#1 japan should've never had their first goal - and had a PK called later in the 2nd half.
#2 just now France should've had a PK for a handball. |

The ref. of the openingsgame was actually pretty good imo, commentators here thought that he had a great chance of doing the Final after his good performance :)
Referees allways suck at these large events, blame Sepp Blatter for trying to win points from small country's by giving them refereespots at large events, Blatter is a big arse who should be shot :rolleyes:
I wouldn't imply dat all European referee's are good (remember the one from the Champions league finale :nervous: ) but overall their at least a bit better :D |

Well, its a big event, and the referee's are under international pressure to make a good and fair performance, and it will never be totally fair.
I disagree with the Italy - Ghana game referee, way too easy on the Ghana players, they were getting way too agressive, and the fact he had to stop the game every 2seconds for a foul on the Italians ruined the game and really ruined the result the Italians could have had. |

| i thought the refs for the US-Czech game were pretty good. the ones for the Mexico-Iran match seemed pretty decent too. i missed the call on japan's goal but the later no-call was supposed to be a make up for it or so the commentators said. |

I agree that there have been some botched calls, but France shouldn't have had a penalty; it was in no way an intentional handball from the Swiss defender.
That Japanese goal was borderline, but it was cancelled out later by the official ignoring Cahill's late challenge in his own penalty area. I suppose two wrongs make a right.
What's a bit silly is all the bookings for pedantic reasons, such as the Swiss player cautioned today essentially because the French took the free kick as fast as possible and kicked into him. Or for when the Swiss didn't kick the ball into touch as Henry lay injured... off the field. Ironic then that the ref didn't give Abidal a second yellow for a clumsy tackle from behind near the end of the match.
Some very inconsistent work all in all, but nothing really match-deciding yet. Let's hope it stays that way. |

| I dont know if its just me, but maybe there should be two refs on the fields, so they can have a better look or understanding of what goes on. I see alot of miss calls in football..but just my two cents. |
