The real issue is one of creativity- does Tiesto conceptualise a track and then work with producers and engineers to get it sounding like he wants, or does Tiesto put his name to other people's ideas?

I've not read all the thread but this post is one that I did read and my view is about the same as this.

The engineers are people that do this kind of thing for a living they went to college did courses or somehow learnt how to do what they do. This is their job.

People employ them to engineer their song be it Tiesto or me or you, he doesnt care what the song is called, whos name is on the cover because he gets paid whatever fee he has asked for from the customer.

In the end its the customers original idea that the engineer finishes, Maybe you could go to an engineer and ask them to make you a whole new song and then pay him for that but I'd think that Tiesto has some ideas how he wants his music to sound after so long being around so I'd say alot of the ideas are his and then finished by his engineer.

I dont see a problem except I wish I had the money to be able to employ someone to finish tracks for me. :D

yeah, totally agree.. i asked a studio in my city for mastering services, and he asked me if I wanted him to mix the track for me as well.. i definitely think this is the final case here.
