Nice one, I still need to pick that up.
Hoenstly I don't see the point of getting the Vandit release without the M.O.R.P.H. remix.
Ugh, the released version is totally butchered compared to what it was before.
And the Nu-NRG EP: Whoa! How much did you drop for that one? |
NU-NRG EP: 40 pounds
Sunday Afternoon: I'm a big NU-NRG fan so I picked the Vandit release up.
The Passion: I don't know what the original sounds like. This appeared in my record store and I liked it enough to buy it.
You have some nice pickups yourself. I have three of those and would like to find the cafe del mar release sometime. I don't see it around too often though. Good find!
The Infernal Machine: I don't know how much it was played back in the day, but I only found out about it just recently. Good track. |

To each his own, but I still think the M.O.R.P.H. mix kicks the pants out of the rest. Shame it isn't on the Vandit release, because if it was I would have bought the record. :p

They probably had legal issues with the sampling, and had to go back and change the lead. I'm sure there's a rip out there somewhere of the first version; if not, I've got one and can host it for you. I think it's much, much better, and really disappointed that it didn't end up on the release, which is really inferior by comparison.

I kicked myself for not fronting the money when it first appeared on dancerecords.com a few months back, and suspected I would never see it again on this side of the Atlantic. I usually don't have much money to spend on records, and $35 seemed steep for my budget at the time.
I happened to have some cash last week, and decided to browse a little. It was just my luck that the Cafe del Mar 4x12" had been restocked, so I ordered it immediately. They sold out the very next day. :p

The synths sound a little dated now, but the tropical guitar riff is as fresh as ever. It was hot in 2000; I first heard it in PvD's Mayday set from the same year, and had't forgot it since. Paul signed it to Vandit in 2000, but for some reason it took years and years before it finally got pressed. |

Infernal Machine - Realistic
yes, that guitar riff, is (like you say) fresh as a daisy, great tune imo
fits well in a pumping trance set, also when pitched right down it fits nicely into a prog trance set, and its a very versatile record
and never seen the point of pvd signing it to vandit....though i picked my version on sadie records, after digging deep in a record store and picking it up for £2! |
