No... but forests also aren't selective about who they choose to let in. Every club and lounge these doesn't let in groups of guys without girls. The reason they do this is so that there are not more guys than girls and also any problems with guys harrassing girls. When you go to a house party you bring beer or liquor... but many times once there you don't even drink the stuff you brought. |

The only time in my life I had to go through something like this was for Boris at crobar last month. Knock on wood never a problem any other times.
Can a group of guys be denied entrance even with tickets from wantickets? Secondly If you read the small print when buying one it doesn't state anywhere that your not allowed in the venue with alot of doods.
but im sure it says Crobar withholds the right to tell anyone they want to go themselves right? |

Groups of guys without any girls will have less problems at mega clubs when it is a night where there is not a major DJ. Nights with a major DJ always have a stricter door policy. Lounges always have a strict door policy regardless of the night. These days at mega clubs, whether you are on the guest list or if you have advance tickets... it is still the doorman's decision whether he/ she decides to let you in or not. The small print there is very general. If they don't let you in, you will get a refund.
When I first started to throw parties over 10 years ago at Tunnel the door policy was very, very strict compared to what it is today. Back then you could be one guy with 10 hot girls and still get denied entrance to the club. After 1996 at the Tunnel there has not been one mega club in NYC with a very strict door policy, only lounges are that strict now. Back in the day you only got in if you were on the guest list. Long story short... these days at mega clubs, just dress stylish and show up with girls and you'll get in.
Any who... this thread is review of John Digweed and this is going too far off topic. |

The problem is that Paul's idea of stylish is a baseball cap, sport jacket, t-shirt and jeans. Funny how the one time I was turned away (while with my girl that he so kindly offered to let in without me), I was wearing a t-shirt and told to wear a button up. I guess that jacket makes all the difference.
I might have a problem with dress codes or male:female ratio criteria, but I understand them. That said, if you're going to have them, at least advertise, and make them the same across the board.
Also, if he was on John's list like I interpretted from his post, there's absolutely no excuse for him not getting in |

I agree he should have got in with no problems since he was on Digweed's list. But the doorman has the final say on who gets in or not regardless of everything. |

It's all understood, it's common nyc nightlight etiquette we all know that just that it tarnishes a night that i've been waiting for. I skipped sasha and satoshie for this and to not get let in was just a shame.
And I think almost all guys can agree with me on this one, sometimes guys just need a night out with the boys without having any girlfriends or girls they know with them. You know to do the guy things....
Anyways I hear diggers laid it down
by any chance did he drop his infamous pa dida? lol im dying to hear that live |

The rule applies as long as you're not asian. If you're Asian, you have a 50/50 chance of not getting in. Period. |

| A better idea is to travel to Montreal for parties. I would rather do 3-4 parties there a year than go out every weekend in NYC. Talent is same, its just the vibe and treatment that u get in diff. cities that makes it all the worth while. Quite honestly, it in sucks how ppl get treated here. I say for a good time, head north to Club Aria and Stereo in Montreal. |

yeah it SO does make a difference what you arrive in...my friends (non-asian) were wearing button-ups with jeans and nice shoes but had a hoodie on (cuz it was cold) -- and they were with girls too. He was told to get off the line. he showed them the button down shirt he was wearing underneath...but to no avail. I guess the power really GETS to their heads. no love for crobar here... |
