I thought there ere alot of guns in canada. My friends dad used to always go hunting in canada & had alot of friends that lived there. He said every person he knew in canada owned a gun.

I would much rather not have a gun, and be a little less "safe" when attacked by a thief, than to have a bunch of gun-toting ego-maniacs wandering around.

wrong
firearms are allowed
you need a permit to buy amunition.
the difference between canada and the united states is that we dont have cnn to scare the living out of us with its version of the state of things. Therefore we do not feel the urge to arm ourselves to the teeth to protect ourselves from "evil dooers" or the king of england:p

My apologies.

Yea, we are allowed to have guns... they just make it very difficult to get them.

oh snap i was going to stop by to rape ur mom. :p

i've always wanted to shoot a gun.

i've shot a gun before it was cool but now i've got it out of my system. go to firing range with ur mom and shoot away.

and for those of you who hate guns...what if you were sound asleep in your bed with a wife and kids in the house and some ing sicko breaks in with a weapon? would u hesitate to shoot his ass when he grabs your wife hostage or tries to harm your family?

btw, I'm against guns. kids get their hands on them or someone gets killed by accident.

they're not a good form of protection becuase you have to have it located next to you, needs to be loaded, and more important you have to be willing and able to shoot to kill. most ppl who have a gun for protection aren't a good shot or don't have the balls to use it.

btw, what if you sneeked into ur mom's house late at night because you forgot something and didn't want to wake her up. she shoots you because she thinks your a robber.

I can somehow respect the 'what if someone breaks into your house and grabs your children as hostages'. BUT:

When the does those things ever happen? Seriously.

Of how many americans, and earthicans for that matter, who owns a gun have acctually ever used it, for good reasons? imo, it's just stupid. You ARE in fact stupid if you own a gun out of fear. Lock your doors instead!

But I guess it's as american as going to McDonalds daily, I won't stop you, but that doesn't stop YOU from becoming fat, if you get the metaphore.

No, I'm not bashing americans, I'm bashing an american idea.

I was pretty sure that you were wrong, so I did a quick google on Canadian gun laws. Here's a few links so that you can correct yourself.

-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Canada - BTW, in this one, you can see that long guns (rifles, shotguns) no longer even need to be registered as of 2006, going back on the 1995 law that really upped your gun control laws, but hardly banned guns.

-http://www.canadianembassy.org/gove...ncontrol-en.asp - Mostly for travelers bringing guns in, but still gives an overview of your own coutry's laws.

it is an american phenomenon...most def.Its not bashing, because if you look at canada, we actually have more firearms per capita than the us, yet we dont have anywhere near the same rate of deaths by firearms. There is really no explanation that i can see other than americans are nuts:p
