Renegade, you have a great point, although it still is from a defensive point of view. (about the reactions in this thread)

Some people do brag about not using drugs like they're better. This i agree with. I was not defending everyone that doesn't do drugs... I was defending the 2 or 3 people in this thread that simply answered the question then were drilled by others for it....

People, remember there are 2 fine lines we are teeter-tottering on here....

1) the difference between using drugs and abusing them.... (big difference)

2) the difference between casual drug users and habitual drug users..... (again, big difference)

So as i stated in the other thread, i think Thor and Tiesto14 need to keep the debate civilized instead of throwing insults back and forth.

i haven't dropped in like 6 months. i haven't gotten drunk in like a year (i've had a social drink or two). as of late...i've been having a good time being sober but still hang with friends who either get high or drunk. am i finished w/ e? i dunno. i just haven't had the feeling to want to do it. i love to dance, but i can't do that if i'm high or drunk. but that's just me. i still have a good time and just because someone is high or drunk doesn't mean i won't talk to them or look down upon them...that's their choice. i have made those decisions in the past, so why would i be better than them.

one of my favorite compliments people have given me when i'm sober is, you've got a wicked vibe. i just love it when people say that to me. or people think i'm high cause i won't stop dancing. for me, i can reach a different sense of euphoria without chemicals. i don't say that to show off or anything, i say that with a sense of self worth and pride.

...it's late, i've run outta steam, no more ranting

Well i tryed to keep the peace but he jumped down my thoat calling me ignorant and this and that.....so i responded...

And you are right....i am NOT talking about casual drug users who smoke pot once and awhile or a kid at a rave who takes E every blue moon...i am talking about the users who are a danger to our society the ones who commit crimes..HENCE the MAJORITY....

i have given a very good resourse to back up my claims and he still cals that bull..so argueing with him is pointless he is on a cruasade or soemthing...i dunno...but then he comes back at me saying the US Justice Dept is not a credible sourse and posts links to half ass organizations that have nowhere near the same credentials as the USDJ...

i read all those links and soem things i agree with and some i dont...but my opnion is that drugs do NO good for our world...if they are used for MEDICINAL purposes then they do..other then that they are poisonous crap like alcohol and tobacco...

Illegal drugs? No. It was around from the time I was born (seriously; that's no lie) but never found the point. A natural high was always more powerful for me... (See? I give a point as to why I don't; but don't chastise me for my decision)
Alcohol? Once in a blue moon. I'd be a hypocrite otherwise...
Trance? Yes please! :D

Seems there's a few people on the 'other' side that seem quite upset or feel the need to defend there drug habits. I don't remember anything in the original post asking that? I've seen twice as many posting regarding illigals...why not have a clean one without the retoric or is that guilt? <-- That's not meant as a slam, just my thoughts...:sadgreen:

Hey...whatever turns your crank? I've got friends that do pills etc etc. I just plan to be there if they need me, that's all.

Sorry, but that's a pretty misinformed view. It makes you sound like one of those "winners don't do drugs" US parliamentary type guys (erm, or whatever). I suggest you read back through my post, read between the lines, and then take heed of what ABT says:

To assert that the majority of drug users are "criminals and degenerates" or "a danger to our society" goes flagrantly against any statistical measurement you care to mention. Perhaps there is a correlation between the use of addictive substances and crime (i.e. heroin addicts have more of a need to commit crimes in order to feed their habit, I'll grant you that) but to throw all drug users into the same basket is wrong, and demonstrates a fairly comprehensive misunderstanding about what we're talking about.

For instance, 40% of the American (or was it the Australian?) population have tried pot in their lives, which constitutes the use of an illegal drug, agreed? Now, unless more than 50% of these people (20% of the total population) are in jail (or should be in jail at least), how can you say that the majority are degenerate criminals? Now obviously the use of illegal drugs constitutes a crime in itself, so technically, by default, you could call all of them criminals, but by that logic we could label anyone who's ever jay-walked, parked illegally or littered a "degenerate criminal" as well.

I think you could survey the entire population of a country, and firstly the vast majority of drug users would be listed under the category of "casual" (as opposed to habitual), and secondly I think you'd find that the crime rates amongst this demographic would not be any higher than in the rest of the population.

If you have any statistics that refute this prediction, then feel free to point them out to me.
tiesto14
all the statistics are in the other drug thread about the commercial if u wanna read...but WHY IS THAT PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING...i said i am NOT talking about people who smoke pot occasionally...JESUS !!!.....i am talking about hard drug users.....

and yes if u read the statistics in the other thread u will see that in a very high number of arrests and crimes the offender was undeer the influence of MARIJUANA....so yes it DOES lead to criminal activity...not for everyone but a LARGE portion...

I still dont see how you people think drugs are good for this world...they have done way more harm then good for our society...do you not see this...are you people that ing blind....i dont get it....

AND STILL NOT ONE PERSON HAS STATED WHAT DRUGS DO FOR A SOCIETY THAT MAKES THEM GOOD ....maybe you all need your own children to get addicted ...i dunno but hopefully one day you will open your eyes to the reality that drugs are B-A-D....its not a rumour......

I don't think drugs are good.

But i also think that people can do what they want. And this is the internet. Some TA's can do 10 E's in a night and it won't affect my life at all. So why would i stress about it?

Just loosen up, Tiesto14, and don't take it so seriously. You're not fighting a crusade here, so don't make it one. It won't affect your life any no matter what these guys do. :)

Amen Rob!! :)

I just wanted to put some stress on the fact thateven among hard drug users, their are still very different use-patterns and habits.
I feel you are confusing us harmless E-users to heroin-junks on the streets...

And, as I've said before....keep it to your own country ok? You're saying that the majority of harddrugs users are criminals etc etc....YEA in the US perhaps!!!!!!!!!
But I don't think it's hard to be considered a criminal over there, since about everything, except shooting guns and reading the bible, is illegal over there!!!!!

Anyway, I'm not typing these posts in my own defence but in the defence of the entire Dutch, or even European, drug-scene, cuz some of the stuff posted here is total BS when it comes to the scene over here!!

:)

Miss Proximus
Sorry to confuse you :)

I agreed with you, and the rest of the message was more or less directed towards tiesto14 :)
