yeah, i'll tell you how i started... every person i met that told me they were into dance music got a piece of paper and a pen from me. i told them to write down their emails. i started doing that at 18.
by the time i was 19, i had about a 275 person email list and still hadn't played out yet. i told the guys at Heaven i wanted to play and had a 275 person email list...
boom, booked.
turned 21 and now my list is f'ing huge and i made a relationship with a promoting company(realivze tribe/polka dot) that i thought was making all the right moves.
boom, resident.
now not having to stress about the next gigs i have plenty of time to produce :)
boom, life is good.

OK, so lets recap... first you go BOOM.... then...
you get a pen and paper and write BOOM and hand it to your friends who are 19.
