ok did a search first but didn't find a logic only user thread....so even if there is one here's a fresh one.
who here uses logic?
what do you produce?
what artists do you know who use logic?
feel free to add anything else you find interesting.
I use logic primarily, I produce anything from house to hardcore although my current focus is big room trance, and I know BT uses logic as his main production software....

| I dont own logic myself but my school uses it in every music lab they have. I gotta say that for a program I bearly use it is very nice. I like the interface and I just like the way it works. If i had a mac i would use it for sure. |

Off the top of my head the instruments i use for leads are ES2, Korg Legacy, Albino 3, FM7, Octopus.....
For bass i would probably use Trilogy, Imposcar, Minimoog, Minimonsta, and im currently using Cakewalk Rapture in the track im working on at the moment. Linplug Octopus is another plug-in i like.
For pads & strings I like to us Spectrasonics Atmosphere, Absynth 3, or Linplug Sophistry.
I have loads of other plugs, but those are probably the main ones i go for.
For drums i use the EXS24 sampler. I never really got into Ultrabeat, but im sure its a great plug-in. Maybe i should take the time to learn it properly!
For mastering i have someone more experienced to do that for me. |

right on that was exactly the kind of review I was looking for.
did you buy all those plug ins al that stuff in quite pricey.
as far as the ES2 goes do you use patches thaty came with the program, or build your own, also I'm sure you can expand the patch library for it, where did buy more patches?
also do you have like a big old drum sample library that you load into the EXS24 or do you use the sounds it came with. also, do you use it for one drum sound each or make your kits all on the same sampler....

I use Logic 7 Express at the moment but want to upgrade to the full Pro version soon...Logic is so good with Pads/Synths/FX , although i feel youve got to work harder with creating your percussions....and once you get the EQing right,you can get a good Pro clean sound out of it..

The studio where I work now uses Logic Pro 7 on a sexy Mac Dual g5 2.3ghz, with 2.5gb ram, and it's just great.
It hooks up to an m-audio keyboard for midi key control, and we have some external mic-pres, compressors and a Digi002rack all interfaced and sounding yum.
We put out mostly anything.. but primarily we make house, prog, trance, breaks, some jungle, jingles, post work, etc. We needn't use any extra plugins cuz the logic ones are sufficient. |

I used to use Pro tools for years but when I swithced to Logic 7.. i will never go back. As you all know, Logic has many tools in the tool bag. I run it on my G5 and how Logic utilizes dual processor's is amazing. I am working on a remix now, with a lot of automation, plug ins, and about 70 stereo tracks and the computer doesnt lift a finger.
I co-produce with a pop/rock band and compose electronically influenced hip hop and break's.
BT is my all time favorite.. I study his work and yeah, he rocks Logic.
I feel logic is a great creative tool.. among all the other audio sequencers i have used, Logic is sensational for whatever I need to do. And also, how Logic can be integrated in so many other process' is sick. |

I think logic for PC was discontinued around 5.5.
I think they are up to Logic 7 on mac. Not to sure about that though. |
