Shooting @ Crobar last night

The hotspot club was shut down soon after the 10:20 p.m. shooting as cops surrounded West 28th Street looking for the gunman.
The victims, whose ages were not released, were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Cops would not disclose the extent of their injuries nor speculate on a reason for the shooting. They said they were still searching for the gunman and the weapon.

Has anyone been there on a Thursday (and will admit it :p)? How's security? Lately, I've been getting searched pretty thoroughly on Fridays and Saturdays, even the pocketwatch pocket, so how does someone sneak in a gun? I know they start at like 5 PM for afterwork, so I'm wondering if it's because of lax security early on in the night when they don't expect problems. |

Why wouldn't you think they'd go through this? I'm waiting for the same thing to happen at Pacha, to be honest (hopefully not when I'm there tonight). These places that open up for hip hop nights ask for it. Guns are a part of the hip-hop culture, just listen to lyrics. That's why places that only cater to that crowd have strict searches, at the least, if not metal detectors.
We met up with some of Christina's friends at Jay-Z's sports bar, 40/40, and I was surprised to get searched there, since it's not a club but a sports bar, but on second thought, it made complete sense. |

I would think that the less people there are in attendance, the more time they can take to thoroughly search people, wherease on packed weekends they kind of quickly graze your clothes and keep it movin'. Maybe they profile people LOL.
Well hopefully the victims are okay and Crobar learns to keep the garbage in the gutter where it belongs. Funny, the first thing I thought when I read the title of this thread was "movie filming". |
