Yeah i was was refering to ebeneezer Goode, but also Love Sex Int.
One thing i love about this whole 'scene' is how it is a can do attitude, what i mean is when I bought dex, my mum thought it was a waste of money, when i put on a few parties, my dad thought I was wasting my time, but I'm still here and interested. It's like the attitude is 'who cares what you say, I'm doing this'. It's created a whole world of interest, with different creative processes like video and other art. |
Which parties have u put on skot_e, maybe i was at one of em. |

Did an unliscenced show in about 95 (from memory) called Millenium (I saw a movie of this name and liked it, found out it meant 1000, and then the whole 'new millenium' thing started a couple of years later). Also put on a couple of club nights around the same time, but found I was more interested in going out than working. Favourite was at a cool little venue near my house which was in the Crypt of an old church (ie the Morgue). it's a great venue but not in the city, and everyone used to come through ib the way to town. Did it for a few weeks, and when I stopped, the owners wanted to keep it going as they were making some ca$h, but I wasn't, and I was missing out on having good times with my mates. (have been thinking about approaching them again, but it is surrounded by housing so I'm not really sure)
Also put on a free party near Bridgewater just off the freeway which got about 400-500 people all through word of mouth. That was a wicked night. Cost me a bit to put on, but I thought it was money well spent (my old man thought i was crazy). |

I figured it out: I just found an old TDK 90 mins tape ('93!) in my dusty tapes box with apparently a compilation of a compilation of Trance Europe Express. Little bit of memory falsification there ;)

Marmion - Schoneberg (Original Vinyl Mix)
is one of my fav old tracks! classic!
nice little video...never really thought about the historical relevance of trance music in germany and the berlin wall and everything... |

Yeah I didn't realise the tune Mijk Van Dijk plays live is Schoneberg. The original is quite different to the Marmion remix, both are excellent but the Marmion remix just has that bit extra for me;)
Another thing I've noticed about these tracks is the production, IMO you have to listen quietly or through a huge system. Headphones are OK too, but yeah I definately think they would really come alive played through subs. |
