Im late to this thread.
Had a great time last night, I got to meet the "cream" of all forums, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE :whip:
Great set by John but it was all about the warm up and the growing tension. I think Digweed was impressed with Lance's music. I would imagine the majority of the dj's he plays with are usually minimal or electro, which is a trend, but lance's set was beyond any pigeonholes. Fitting in progressive house with the latest tech house from germany, the whole room was in a frenetic journey till the end...

| Away from common beliefe, 50% of any night's success is based on luck and wether or not things build up. In this case, they did, and all the crew @ SLM receive a big hug from the kiddo... |

I walked in as Lance was taking the decks...perfect timing. His set was absolutely incredible! It couldn't have been any better...definitely one of the top sets I've heard this year. The teases & tension builders were mind boggling...:eyespop:
Thanks Lance! |

When I was 19 years old and getting into dance music in Orlando (1993-94). My best friend brought me to a club called Firestone to hear two DJs I had not ever heard of before. I remember standing on the dance floor and pointing to the DJ booth and telling my best friend, "I want to do that". I want to play in clubs like this. It was John Digweed and Sasha. I had been playing florida breaks and miami bass. The next day, I went to Underground Record Source in Orlando where Chris Fortier and Tim Skinner worked. Everyone was still partying from the Sasha and John event the night before. I walked up to the counter and told them, "I the records that Sasha and Digweed played last night!" They just started laughing at me. B/c those tunes were all on acetate and were not coming out at all or not for a long time. Tim picked out a few records for me and said, "These are the style that those guys play" It was the best trance in the world... the classy .
I went home and pushed my breaks and bass records aside and knew at that moment that this was what I lived for.
Including opening for Sean Cusick and John Digweed at Velvet in 2000, last night I felt I had come full cirle. Able to host a mentor at my home club in the city I love.
John has always been extremely nice. He recorded last night :) I recorded last night. John Digweed will be coming back to Austin... he had a great time.
Thank you to all of my TA friend who supported this event. I hope everyone had a memorable experience. I the vibe was magnificent!
Thank you for being a part of it.
