Lance, you rank right up there with Jimmy Van M in doing this flawlessly imo. I've seen you open for numerous headliners and you always set the mood just right. It must take some self control I'm sure...you must rub one out before you hit the decks...lol
I'm still debating on going to this. I live in Dallas but I'll be in Houston Mon - Thur for work. Still unsure at this point...:conf:

Thanks dude... I find opening sets more challenging. Powerful music is about tension and release. If you can combine that with a journey, your on the money. When I used to go to Twilo for JVM/Sasha/John residency, I was always there early to hear Jimmy. The dude would warm up for 3 hours... The place was like a pressure cooker by the time Sasha or John played their first track... Then the club would explode.
I was there for my birthday (Halloween 1998 or 99)... Sasha did not make the gig due to a car accident. It was John and Jimmy... Jimmy played for the first 4 hours, then John came on and ing destroyed the room. THAT was the best set I had ever heard... and remains the best I've ever heard. After 8 hours... Jimmy went back on for another two hours until 11am or so. The had made the lighing static, no motion and the room was about 3/4 full. They both played Move! by John Selway & Christian Smith... Jimmy brought it back down... good closer as well.
yeah, rubbing one out pre-game LOL. I dunno if would do that b/c I need that sexual tension in the set... otherwise people might as well bring a pillow and take a little nap on the dancefloor. |

9.2 (Night): Blake Jarrell & Baltic Bloc (6-hour tag set)
9.3: Apparat & Ellen Allien
9.7: James Zabiela
9.9: Markus Schulz

so depending on whether or not I can get to Texas, that looks like the final rundown. I'll be way too drained for PvD, and I dunno if I'm even gonna be up for ACL after all that, but we shall see.
p.s. Diggerz, if you needed another reason to come up to see Dear, see that schedule for the next day's entertainment :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: . I almost died upon finding that out just now. |
