Afford time off school... I've hear of "I can't afford to get fired from my job" but "I hope I can afford some time off from school during that week"

... are you getting paid to go to school?

:toocool:

A perfect reason to play it, then: up the ante on him and see if he can maintain. That'll prove whether or not he's just here pimping Transitions, or here to throw down with some business. :D

No

Cuz Digweed might have an opener...

And? That's still to be determined anyway. If he does, all well and good, but if Lance is opening, why not go all out? :happy2:

Either way... there is an art to warming up and building tension without blowing your wad. That is the only way to warm a room properly. Besides the fact that your job is to set the headliner up to take the night where they want, you never know where a perfectly exacuted warm-up can land you ;)

Good interview with Bill Patrick

There is another interview with Jimmy Van M from 1998 or 1999 (northern exposure/Twilo years) out there somewhere but I can't find it. The best interview I've ever read from Jimmy... he describes it perfectly. Wished I could find it.

Bill Patrick needs to visit TX sometime this year.

Bill Patrick: Paul Oakenfold’s Jesus Christ pose. Actually, it may all derive from that. Too many of these guys think they’re more important than they really are, charging astronomical fees and thus raising the cover at clubs. A $30-$40 cover charge is ridiculous in a time when the economy, worldwide, is horrible.

Amen.

I always had a hard time articulating my expectations on warm up sets until I heard JVM describe this in an interview. The key words, building tension...perfect! I believe I heard it on the Delta Heavy DVD...

Lance, you rank right up there with Jimmy Van M in doing this flawlessly imo. I've seen you open for numerous headliners and you always set the mood just right. It must take some self control I'm sure...you must rub one out before you hit the decks...lol

I'm still debating on going to this. I live in Dallas but I'll be in Houston Mon - Thur for work. Still unsure at this point...:conf:
