For those who are going:
Paul van Dyk is very sorry to announce that he is unable to play Global Gathering today
"Due to serious illness in my family I won't be able to attend Global Gathering, as I need to be at their side. I'm really sorry that I have to do this, but I hope that everyone can understand that family and loved ones are the most important things in life. I will offer a Club Gig as a replacement as soon as possible - due to the long booking arrangements, it is likely to be November. I wish you a fantastic festival and hope you accept my apologies" - Paul van Dyk

Mr Van Dyk seems to do a fair bit of the whole cancelling shows for personal reasons malarkey. I'm sure it's a valid reason, but cancelling so late on the night that he's supposed to be playing is slightly last moment.
Ah well, I'd care if I were at Global, but the irritating under-18s rule means that I'm not. At least the football keeps me happy. Up the Saints! :) |

up where :p I watched my boys beaten by derby today. They were celebrating like they'd won the world cup, it's only a friendly! Even so, Inigo Idiakez was good |

It just goes to show the man is human. He puts family first.
Although, a profeesional DJ is payed well to do their job and it will leave a scar on the dance music commutity in that location. I know if he cancelled on a party I was going to attend I know I'd be devistated. Especially, as he does not visit Australia that often. |

happens guys, get over it. I'm sure if you were in his position and family was concerned, you'd likely do the same.
Afterall, clubs/paries/whatever, will always be there, family won't last forever. |

| Of course he did the right thing when cancelling, end of discussion. Family's always first. |

+1 ... unless he's just using it as an excuse... but I guess there's no reason to believe that |

I was gutted when he didnt show, but if its a genuine family problem - fair enough.
However, I find it a little convenient for the ticket sales that the announcement was put out on the day of the festival, and yet Global Gathering had been removed from PVD's list of gigs on his website about a week previous.
Still, at least he offered a club night in return. Lets hope he doesnt expect us to travel to Germany for it. |
