Have you ever considered all your anger and senseless babble is just you fighting your inner homosexuallity. Have you ever been ed in the ass? You might just like it, so try it. You may end up with a happier life and a significant lover named Vincent.

Now im down with you, back to 90's angst.

I remember temple of the dog and the song hunger strike. It was a pretty good song. :)

Its weird how people seem to let themselves be brainwashed into liking unoriginal things in general not just music. Seems like its all based on recognition from others or feeling like your cool if you like what most peolple like. Its a shame most people act like that. Its much more fun to expand your mind with alternative ideas etc.

does calling each other gay reallymake a difference? personally i wouldn't know but i'm guessing no. anyhow, i don't like and never liked a majority of the listed artists but i loved nirvana and i liked pearl jam and smashing pumpkins. i think i liked them because i was in middle school/high school, lived in the pacific northwest and their music seemed to speak to confused pre-teens/teens.

also, rappers are more interested in rapping about their money, cars and hoes than anything else right now. they aren't suicidal, if anything they are happier now than they ever were. i cannot imagine a song like tupac's brenda's got a baby being released now and anyone listening to it because it's not happy enough.

also keep in mind that record executives decide what gets played and the cheesy crap always wins out, the artists who are willing to be innovative have to take a backseat to people pop stars and if you have good voice you aren't going to go anywhere until you sell out just a bit (i.e. christina aguilera has a great voice but her music was crap at first)

Wow, that means even less to me than if it were coming from DOOMBOT. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Gmoney, Part 3 is so much more disappointing than your first 2 parts that got banned. At least they gave us something to laugh at you for. Now you're completely worthless.

As I see you just recently joined, ill bare you the details. But High and I go way back(2 years or so). And if anyone is gonna deal with his homophobic tendancies its gonna be me.

Also from my intrusive post search of you, because i have no clue who you are and was curious. I see you tend to go to the big brand name techno(err i mean trance, progelectropsybreaks what ever the catchy genre term is for it nowadays) events. Do you go to any of the more "underground" acts? It would seem the same superficial reasons that lead you to those 90's bands prolly lead you to electronic music. Or maybe it is drugs(last few trance events I have been to, i actually believe the only way you could enjoy them is with a few hits of e). Or it could be even the ladies for all i know. Because if its in search of new innovative music PVD isnt it, markus isnt it, and AVB us deffinately not ing it.

Yeah im not trying to come off a prick its the 90's angst and all.

I also totaly agree on the record exutive comment. But if those types of records didn't sell they wouldn't lead million dollar add campaigns with billboards, magazines, radio plays etc. They practicly force people to like that . I mean i havent listened to a radio in about 2 years and even i know some of the most recent pop songs. They force feed us and we buy it. If consumers were smarter this wouldnt happen. And dont get me started on MP3's(yeah im guity of them too) but they ing destroyed the independant market for all genres.

This even goes further than just marketing. it goes into the production.

Nickleback(ing douchebags if there ever were ones, they deffinately are going to hell for a dollar and fame)

http://www.thewebe.net/nickelback.htm

Listen to this in stero. Drums perfectly sync up, chord changes at same time drum fills almost identical. And i dont know of any drummers that keep tempo perfectly constant through the whole song(computer edited and synced anyone?).

And the loss of dynamics in modern music. This again we have to thank the record labels. They want the to be the loudest song on the radio. Why you ask? So its heard, so it becomes familiar, so you can sing the ing chorus while your driving down the road in your car with the windows down.

record companies, musicans who give into demands of record campanies and sell all artistic integrity they have, and lastly you consumers who bought the most recent 50cent, little john, nickleback( them the most), britany spears(I admit though toxic was cool, though prolly force fed to me) yeah all you billboard scum sucking consumers. In the end we ultimately ourselves. Wether it be our music, our planet, our culture. The only ones we can blame are ourselves for never doing anything about it.

Meh. It's just a change of style. Look at the difference between music of the 50s and music of the 60s. Completely different.

In anycase, I basically just stick to hip hop and EDM these days, but I will catch myself listening to some rock. While there really isn't much good hard rock these days, there are a few decent bands.

there are still plenty of good bands/artists out there in a number of genres that avoid the hypersensitive subject matter of traditional emo and hipster powerpop -- bands like interpol (neo-new wave), bright eyes (indie folk), black47 (irish political rock) and mooney suzuki (garage rock) all put out consistently solid records. david johannsen has even reconstituted the new york dolls and their new stuff isn't half bad.

early- to mid-'90s "angst" -- a poor descriptive, by the way -- was borne out of a combination of gen x ennoui, a rejection of commercial '80s metal, and an embrace of certain punk elements. asking why today's bands don't make music like that is like asking why high schoolers aren't dancing the charleston anymore...

while today's pussified hipsters are an easy whipping boy, when looking at the larger picture, were yesterday's disaffected and bored suburban white boys any less solipsistic? same , different address.

Rap and hip hop used to amuse me when I was in Junior High school. Now I just find it really annoying. Rock and alternative I listen to mostly the older stuff pre 2004 although there are some more recent artists that have caught my attention.

Regarding EDM, there are tons of worthy producers out there you just have to sift through all the garbage to find them.

In the end its really a matter of taste. To each theyre own.

DeRangedMind
I find that people around there 30's and up enjoy 80's and 70 music so it keeps changing because when the teens get around age there going to be dicussing this type of topic but really there is much garbage up there so its tough to find something original. As for EDM I find that electro/house seems to be popular and there milking it.

Anyways Smashing Pumpkins are coming with a new album

To bad no one mention Velvet Revolver and also I liked No Doubt but now its just Gwen alone doing music

Its not even opinion of taste its brainwashing.... Did you not see the links? A band using the same Chord changes same exact song format, just a different riff here or there and some different lyrics. Did you see how they are destroying dynamics of the music? It has just become a assault ot our ears even the most recent depeche mode album suffers from this horribly. Its a fact music is getting worse.

Like i said i love music from all genres, all all time periods except for ones coming out now. In the future music is gonna be reduced to 30 second clips because people will have lost the ability to discern good lyrical and melodic content(Demolition Man anyone?).
