tiesto is a good dj, and I'm sure he has no fkn clue how much they charge for that stupid dinner....

If Sarah wanted to raise some funds for a great cause through tranceaddict, she could just tell Tiesto to go and post a thread on here, explain the situation and provide info on how can TA's donate some $$

No Dinner necessary, no obligations, no minimum payments, no cheese!

If they are available to an invidiual I see nothing wrong with that.

I personally think those hopital lottery giveaways are a great thing. WIN-WIN situation for everyone. I guarantee you that people don't just donate money for no reason.

I agree with you.. well sort of. I think the point of organizing charity events is usually to get people who would otherwise donate but keep thinking they can do it anytime an incentive to donate.

Regarding what people expect in return, I would say a lot of big businessmen do it for their Public Relations while a lot of the general public does it just so that they can claim that they donated to charity.

But at the end of the day, they can say and do what they want but the money is going towards a notable cause and thats what counts irrespective of the intentions behind doing it.

haha...true dat.

I'm a fan Tiesto though, i'm not going to lie. If it wasn't for Tiesto I probably wouldn't have come across EDM. I randomly found some song on Kazaa called Tiesto - In Search of Sunrise 2 and it was the entire set. I was like..wtf is that? Why is the file so big!

Let me see what this is all about.

And ever since then, I can't stop listening to EDM! He these wonderful new tunes to me! Well, him and kazaa haha.

If you have the money, why not?

Honestly, I would rather it be a lunch with somebody more...interesting. Tiesto is a dj/producer, and I would rather a lunch of this be with somebody whom I could learn from. I am sure Tiesto could impart a few words of wisdom, its not the same. As somebody said, Bill Clinton would be cool.

I understand that the goal is a charity, but these events are not exactly advertised solely as charity events. A big, popular person is attached to draw extra attention to the cause. It is only natural for people to request somebody else.

The DJ-fooball jersey fund raising was a really cool idea.

Coporations are the worst. They can thousands and thousands of dollars, and like you said, for PR purposes, then right it off. I forgot what my prof was saying, but in the States the tax right of is rediculous.

there are to many loopholes in the US legal system that corporations can exploit. Even the bankruptcy system is flawed as people can easily file under chapter 7 and have most of their debts discharged rather than chapter 13 and have to pay as much as they can. I think they are correcting that though.
