that I just severed
a main vein with a chainsaw and I'm in pain?
I take a breather and sighed; either I'm high, or I'm nuts
Cause if you ain't tiltin this room, neither am I
So when you see your mom with a thermometer shoved in her ass
Then it probably is obvious I got it on with her
Cause when I drop this solo it's over with
I bought Cage's tape, opened it, and dubbed over it

fact: the best eminem album was the slim shady lp :p
Demoted
Marshall Mathers LP owned.

I have that track as my ringtone, it kicks much ass.

I take a clean shave, bathe, go to a rave,
die from an over-dose and dig myself up outta my grave.

Raarrrr!

I had heard one or two singles from the album and one day a friend of mine lent me the cd.

I gave it a full listen in one straight shot and I was like wtf is this?
Lyrics way over the edge :stongue:
As much as I hate to say Eminem had skills in the shock factor department!
Slylee
i have a love/hate thing with him. i liked his earlier stuff when he first came out and had dre with him in some tracks.

but i really can't stand when he gets all "serious" and sings those gay ass songs to hailey and his ex wife.

i never really thought his lyrics were THAT great...i mean, instead of finding words that rhyme and still being able to tell a story, he just like manipulates the timing of other words to rhyme, which a lot of rappers do, but i dunno, it just sounds cheesy sometimes when he does it. he's not very flowey or smooth with his lyrics like outkast or ludacris...

my 2 cents.

but i have to admit that paragraph posted in the first post is interesting, is this on his new album or something?

No its from a song 'role model' on his 1999 album 'the slim shady lp' (the one with 'my name is' and 'guilty conscience')
eminem's music today sucks, just like most of rap/hop hop on the radio but that album was superb, both lyrically and sonically

His music is just too harsh for me. I dont want to be that guy at the beginning of office space rolling up his window as he pulls up to people. lol i love that movie

to me hip-hop/rap was always about the beats and never the lyrics, probably why i like edm so much now.

I have to say I feel the same way about music in general
I listen to the instrumental more than the words
probably like 70/30

Slylee
same here, and everyone wonders why i like the mindless by lloyd banks and 50 cent. because it simply just sounds good and has a great beat...i love their stuff.

anyway, u can get the best of both worlds by listening to any song on some old Outkast albums..Aquemini or ATLiens..
Allied Nations
50 Cent ft. Mobb Deep - Outta Control (Remix)

Ch00000n. Sick production.

Vivid will back me up on this.
