| It's because people are inept to change. They'll realize and switch, just like people didn't keep using stone to write stuff down... |

1) There is no good controller available.
2) Solid laptops are costly.
Edit: 3) You could look like a nerd. |

When your playing, 90% is only the music. That’s why being a DJ is so special, because we only care about the music we are spinning as well, nothing about fame, or any “skills” to impress and boost the ego (of course it’s a industry so DJ’s do sell out, hence the top 10 DJ’s in the world, AvB, Pvd, Tiesto, all those sell outs). We play to create an hour of non stop damn good music. And the 10% is how you mix those bad boys and make it sound flawless, a never-ending journey and it’s the presence you have over the crowd and if you can control and connect with the crowd.
Now for me, I’ve only seen one live performance with abelton, BT and he used his apple laptop, etc. It was alright; he got into it and danced with the crowd, lots of energy. But its nothing compared to watching a set live with TT’s. Seeing that “Technic”, white label sexy logo, and you see those guys playing an instrument, the turntable, etc, the show is just magnified beyond any abelton set would get. A DJ will always be a DJ. A violinist will always be a violinist. So if this abelton thing gets big I guess it will be a new era, but they will not be DJ’s. So I think. |

I like to use turntables, it just feels the best that way. I use CDs too but they don't have the same feel in it. And I use software for mixing too, it's cool but.. I still love my turntables :happy2: |

| its like the difference between driving an automatic and stick shift, the auto does the same thing as the manual, but you have more fun with the manual, more control over what's happening. it would seem natural that EVERYONE should have an auto now, but far from it.:) |
