Put Joe Montana on a lot of teams and they win. Kind of silly. Put any great QB on a mediocre team and he can make them great.

Vince Young has less experience than Rex Grossman. I'm 100% confident if he was the Bears QB, Super Bowl would be over. Talent or no talent has a way of shining through. It's not inexperience that throws 6 for 24 for 34 yards, 3 INT's. That's suckiness. Again, Bears can win if he doesn't commit mistakes which he has been able to do the last few weeks.

I agree 100% with Commie's comments (Aristronica).

Game will be decided by a field goal. Both good kickers too.

Rex Grossman. what do i have to say about him, other than the fact he has had too many chances to improve himself. i know lovie smith is having a tough time trying to hang on to grossman, and push him back on the field, after sucking so much. smith knows that if he benches grossman for griese, it's good for the "short term", but not good for the "long term", because he is giving up on his future quarterback for the next couple of years. not the type of standing lovie wants to show at the moment. face it. chicago is stuck with grossman for the next couple of years.

i am interested to see how bob sanders tries to pick apart grossman and the bears. he did an excellent job with brady and mcnair.

i agree totally with this statement. like i said earlier this year, vince young is going to be a successful in this league. he shows signs of that knack that brady and montana had. they all have that sense of winning. they can have the crappiest game, yet at the end, their team will win. something rex grossman doesn't have.

tha's not necessarily true, since Grossman's contract runs out after the 2007 season. If he's e next season, expect the Bears to ditch him. Interestingly, Griese's contract runs through 2010.

And about the 80s Bears having Montana; it's just random fanboy dreaming. But imagine that defense (plus the greatest all around player of all time, Walter Payton) with somebody like Montana or Elway. The Bears were only a great quarterback away from being THE dynasty of the 80s. But this is useless banter since it was 20+ years ago.

:conf:

The NFC East is the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, and Redskins. Did you mean AFC East? If so the Pats are already in the AFC East and have been for years. Please tell me if I missed some huge announcement that all the teams are flopping around to make the NFL more interesting again since the NFC blows.

No I mean the NFC East... the division where 3 teams reached the play-offs this year and where next years super bowl winner the cowboys are.

And I can't hear that anymore... the NFC blows the NFC sucks... do you remember the time between 1985 and 1997 where the AFC won not a single Super Bowl and the 49ers and Cowboys ed your ty teams?

oddsmakers are putting this game out to be highscoring.

but i agree with MoX, both teams have outstanding kickers, and both defenses have been showing up in the playoffs. i know someone's gonna makes the argument that Colts sucked against the Pats. But 7 of those points were manning's fault so in reality NE put up 27. I think that's pretty darn good to hold Brady and that team to that many points, something even Chargers defense AT HOME almost matched (off by 3 pts.). If you're gonna argue that Chargers don't have a stellar defense there's something wrong with that.

so to get to my point, lol, i would not be surprised if the superbowl had the resemblance of the Ravens-Colts playoff game. Bears defense keeping the Colts offense in check but Grossman and Co. committing enough mistakes to give them good field advantage and make some kicks early on. Probably jump out to like a 13 - 0 lead.

Second half Bears will start running again, maybe get a TD from Jones and a couple of field goals from Gould.

I could easily see the game 13 - 13 and Manning put up a final drive for another Vinatieri classic. Colts win 16-13.

16-13 sounds like a good guess. I hope it isnt that low scoring tho...that Saints Bears matchup was so damn borin this super bowl better be good...jus wanna see peyton win a damn ring and then see how much more pressure ELI will have on him

So what? Since 1997 the AFC have won 7 of the last 9 Super Bowls and will win this one too to make it 8 of 10.

Oh, I get it. You think the Cowboys are going to be a little less pathetic next year and face the Patriots in the Superbowl. Talk about a case of wishful thinking.

Yeah and all that will turn around in a few years again when teams like the Patriots suck like in the early 90's and teams like the Cowboys and 49ers rule the NFL again.

Or did anyone think that the Colts or Pats will stay on top forever???
