Happy to see Peyton get his ring so now:
Manning > Marino
Rex Grossman......still sucks. |

damn did grossman look bad. i thought he would be comfortable, seeing that he was back at his college roots of florida, but he just stunk it up. |
I think he'd rather play in blizzard back in Chicago.
The rain ed him up, combined with him not handing the pressure well and got too nervous. |

Defense wins championships... oh wait... Defense with Rex Grossman DON'T win championships...
da bears...
I don't know, it was too low-key for me, Peyton just acted like..."woop dee doo, I won the super bowl... next"
like...wtf...
ENJOY it! He needed to get out of the "BUSINESS" mindset... I don't know...
seeing as he'll only win ONE... |

my teams can't finish the deal lately....oh well. I'm not really surprised. I thought the game was going to be closer but Grossman blew it in the second half by untimely fumbles and two really bad throws. He's young but you just dont make those mistakes!
The defense was much too conservative on guarding against Manning...they were worried about the long ball too much when they should have been blitzing far more often. Manning did not play overly well...he just kept throwing it underneath for 4-7 yard gains and it worked quite well.
Benson getting injured ed things up but you cant go 3 and out conisstently in a SB an expect to win.
I doubt the Bears will be back in the SB next year but the potential is there. If only they could land someone like Drew Brees, Carson Palmer, etc. |

Colts did the same thing against the Pats, just picked apart the D and tired them out... and I still don't know how they got away with it... both times... They've FINALLY figured out how to win the RIGHT way...
lets just hope they FORGET how in the offseason...lol |

nobody will remember I said this here, but the Colts won't be forming a Patriots-style dynasty. No ing way. I doubt Manning will win another SB either but at least he got one, unlike Chokey Marino.
But their defense has way too many holes and flaws for them to carry their superhuman postseason play through to next season. When the is an NFC team going to get a Bears type defense but also a superstar QB? It's been awhile. Where the are their scouting reports come draft time? |

just curious, did anybody really rate that game anyway? I thought it was pretty after the 1st quarter in terms of quality play. I know it was raining but the whole thing seemed anti climactic, methodic and, well....boring. Even if da bears had won (I'd obviously be happy) but I still would have admitted that it was an ugly game overall.
I used to question the fairness of always having the Bowl down south in warmer weather but today kinda shows how weather can ruin a game. |

Yeah no , there was like 22 turnovers. Very sloppy game! Two times with fumbling back to back. Then the 2nd half was just a bunch of Colts swing passes and runs up the middle.
Kind of sleepy in the end. Not the most entertaining super bowl. What was up with Peyton after he won? Like he barely cared. Ho hum. ???? |

it was a defensive game that's why. even though it was high scoring - most of the opportunities came off take-aways and returns.
some people just have no appreciation for those types of things. anyway i enjoyed it. it was good to see both coaches completely re-invent themselves. in the end - grossman lost the game like we knew he would. if bears could keep the lead then they would've won. but when you get into a shoot-out with Payton Manning, and your name is not Tom Brady, you will, in all likelyhood, lose.
congrats to Dungy, Harrison, and of course Manning - these three deserve it. And a hell of a start to a career for Addai. I bet Edgerrin James feels like a ing fool right now in AZ. |

turn overs are exciting but.......the whole game just felt so...blasaie...it's hard to explain. Even the trophy presentation was boring. Manning looked like he just came out of a rub and tug and Dungy was going on about "the lord" as always.
But this is what happens when a game is hyped like the second coming of Christ... |

| It really wasn't that great of a game. Almost seemed like just another regular season game. Although, I'm glad we finally did it. It's been long enough now. We're only the best regular season team of the last 7 years or so. It's nice to finally win the big one and prove we can do it. |
