Best night out I ever had, better than the Dome on New Years Eve.
I just got back from the Carnival, and all I can say is what a mad couple of nights!!!
I can't be arsed to trapse through all the different threads reading reviews like, so stickem here or copy and paste.
It's 2:40 am on Monday morning lol, just walked home from my mate's house.
We started drinking from 3pm on Saturday, got to The Vault in Newcastle to watch the match on the big screen. By early evening we were hammered. We danced to some banging trance in Liquid until 8, and then head off to the Arena.
We got in the Arena about half past 9 to 10. Basically the whole Arena was given to GK, with Sundissential getting the foyet.
The lighting in the main Arena was good, and the crowd were awesome. The place was PACKED OUT at 6am.
Best DJ of the night: JOHN KELLY.
OK so he didn't mix the best tracks, but I judge a DJ on how mental he sends the crowd, and he had everyone screaming for it! He was also very casual. Bottle of beer in one hand, cigarette in the other, mixing away his tracks. The crowd were LOVING it! He had some track with some girly voice screaming "can you feel it" (what was that track called btw?) and he was basically taking the piss. He put that vocal into about 5 tracks lol. He was funny as well as mad. Btw, does anyone know what that remix he played of Robert Miles is called? Was that 4clubbers children? I was lashed so my memory is a bit funny.
Anne Savage started off crap but got better towards the end, and Lisa Lashes did her usual Lesbian act with her.
Armin played a nice set but didn't really get the crowd going. Same with Ferry Corsten.
There were a lot of tossers at this event, but it was to be expected. You know the baby-clubbers as we call them, fascinated with all their flourescent pants and little flashy gadgets and colourful dots on their face, the sort of stuff you played around with when you were at nursery. The sort of people who wreck nights like this, cos they never have the stamina. They stopped serving beer at 4am, which was ashame. Luckily we'd just got two big rounds in before that which lasted us the rest of the event.
6am, hoards of Southerners headed to the train station, while we went off looking for pubs. First two pubs we saw, the Tut n Shive and that other one opposite Central Station were open. Went in there for many cups of coffee. Some quiet house and trance were playing and we got some breakfast. Left there at 8:30 and headed to my mate's house in Felling, where much dancing and drinking proceeded until late afternoon. Then off to my other mates house in Hebburn, where we drank the rest of the evening away. I've been drinking eloads of coffee the last few hours so I'm pretty sobered up now. I haven't slept since Friday night. I'm going to stay up all night so I can go into college. If I go to bed I'll end up sleeping the next 15 hours so it'll have to wait.
All in all an incredible couple of nights. The sound system at Godskitchen was just right, and the atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. Lisa Lashes finished off about 6:15am.

Ferry played the best set for me, second was Anne Savage and third was Armin.
John Kelly, surprisingly, rocked the crowd more than anyone. Remember this was 6am and everyone was jumpin more than any other part of the night. That was what made it for me. |

a) there is probably exactly the same or lower ratio of twats in cyber as there is in non-cyber people. being a cyber and a regular clubber myself i have experiance in these things.
b) cyber-kids dont wreck nights, if anything its the townie piss-heads that cant handle the beer properly that wreck nights. being a cyber and a regular clubber myself i have experiance in these things.
c) we certainly do have the stamina, and if you think different you aint seen proper clubbers before. being a cyber and a regular clubber myself i have experiance in these things.
if you want to judge people solely by what they wear then dont try to talk to me at the NEC/SSS ;) i personally dont give a e if someones in cyber or not, ill still talk to them :) |

i have to admit that seeing most of these people brought a smile to my face (which is probably the only time i did smile all night) - some of the outfits that people were wearing were crazy as ------- exspecially that guy who was dressed up as the monster outta Monsters Inc :eyes: how the fcuk he managed to dance all night in that outfit i will never know, he must have been boiling :)
The only people (or tossers as you call 'em) that were doing my head in, where the fcuked up one's who reckon they can't last the night without dropping a few sweeties - who pay some bloke to make them look/dance like a twat.
if i had a pound for ever guy who came up to me, fcuked outta there heads rambling random , just generally being annoying little gits - i'd be a very rich girl now
i just think that it's a pitty that sooooo many people claim to love music, but seem to think that they have to be off their faces to enjoy/last the night :conf:
One guy made me laugh "How many pills have you taken tonight? I've had 10, i'm fcuked!" me replying "None" him saying "Well if your not taking any, why the hell are you here?"
HHHmmmmmm, i was just beginning to wonder that myself mate !! :D
But anyways, the music was good i agree - the atmosphere was great and the people i met and talked to were fantastic :) |

lol.. thats exactly what i was gonna say..
cybers are the real clubbers.. it's the piss heads who have bad attitudes, no stamina, and an insatiable craving for fights and kebabs.. (most of them anyway) they are the ones who get too pissed and wreck the atmosphere, they also (mostly) dont give a about the music and would quite happily dance to steps if dave pearce played it. the cybers dance all night, love the music, and create the good atmosphere at events like this.. |

I think you're making quite a few prejudgements mate.
The event had a lot of tossers. Many people burnt out by 3am and were sitting in the foyet. Guess what - most of them were wearing cyber gear. It's pointless denying this because you were there too.
As for "not handling alcohol", what do you mean by this? Is raving all night and all morning long "not handling alcohol"? I didn't see anyone collapsing, just a few exhausted people sitting down in flourescent clothing.
Stamina and southerners does not go together. The South is tragic for stamina. You think I've never been south? More judgements.
You've probably known a lot more of these "cyber people" than I have because it's what you like. But I've probably been to a lot more 24 hour and 48 hour parties and I do know what I'm talking about. Stamina isn't 6am. I know that people can go for days with beer. Beer can help you drown your sorrows, beer can help you sleep. Beer can help you chill out, beer can help you party. Beer can help you be extrovert, beer can help you suppress your feelings. Beer can give you stamina, beer can take it away. Beer can take you wherever you want to go. And my experience of marathon parties is that people on ecstacy tend to burn out by mid-late morning, which is why I only ever have it when I'm really skint. |

Goldenarmz, you're comparing extremes.
I'm not.
You see, there is a happy medium. People who go for music and atmosphere. Sod the bull like beads and flashy stuff and children's baggage, sod the vomit and steps concerts. Just music and noise, raving as long as you can last.
Of course, I think you are incapable of addressing this point without comparing the extremes.
Noones here to make a twat of themself. But if all you can do is compare extremes that shows quite a shallow opinion. |
