Numark CDX's or Pioneer CDJ1000's???

Hi All,
A mate & myself are looking to buy some CDJ's very soon and are torn between the CDX and the CDJ1000mk3
We play all styles under the house & breaks umbrella, from long drawn out progressive house mixes to quick tricks and effects with breaks and probably some techno.
No scratching by the way...
We will probably be getting a Xone 62 mixer as well if that counts for anything.
Have had a play with the cdx's and are impressed by the vinyl emulation & seamless looping (the looping rocks!)
The pitch control precision on the CDX goes to .0 decimal places, do the CDJ1000's go to .00 decimal places? if so, will this be a significant factor when attempting long drawn out mixes?
We will be looking to do club gigs so I guess owning & knowing our way around the CDJ1000 would help.
Price isn't really a factor at the moment either...
Any opinions or advice for us CDJ noobs are appreciated.
Cheers... :thepirate |

1000 is the industry standar... i say that will do for you.
ya hte 1000's have .02 incriments.. which is good... .05 and .02 i think are ok to use... once u go .10 it starts getting sketch |

If you can afford the Pioneers, go for them.
The one thing Numark will never have is good build quality... people are always saying it's better, it's better, but it isn't. Numark stuff tends to be ok for messing about at home (mixers particularly) or maybe a cheap spare cd deck, but there's no point comparing them to the top-of-the range, cos they just can't cut it.
Saw a perfect example of that today - a Numark 5000FX mixer fresh out of its box that morning, had been on display for about 3 hours and just from the Numark guy demonstrating it to people, he'd ed the crossfader to the point where you didn't get any sound unless you left it bang in the middle, regardless of where the crossfade curve knob was... very impressive. |

| If you mix EDM, go with the CDJs. If you're a hip-hop DJ, go with the CDXs. Simple as that :) |

| CDJs, of course. There is no comparison. |

| It's just a damn shame about the build quality of the Numarks! I love the look of the CDX, and since I bedroom DJ only I wouldn't be at a disadvantage of not being familiar with the Pioneers. However, I just can't sink that much cash on something I keep reading negative reviews about. :( Damnit, Numark get it together! I really want to add a CDX to my bedroom setup, but I want it to LAST, folks! :whip: |

| Well the other moving platter CD player which is supposed to be quite good is the Denon S3500 - the platter's got a direct drive motor and feels pretty realistic, although I've heard mixed reports from others about that too. |

| I can get the CDJ1000-MK3 at a price of $1,049.00, im wondering if I should buy a pair. I think the CDJ200's work just fine, dont know if I really need the vinyl aspect to the 1000MK3's. Other then that is there a sound quality difference between them? |
