artists in the urban scene i have alot of respect for are outkast, jay z, jermaine dupree, timbaland and busta rhymes to name a few
these guys dont just rap but actually produce the music |

Add Pharrell to that list. Anything that man touches gets infused with a beat so good it consistently knocks my socks off. I still love Grindin'. |

if I do listen to it I prefer to listen to the old school stuff. None of this pre 2000. Although I didn't mind Eminem up until the Marshall Mathers LP. |

hmmm...add to the list of Pharell's songs...
"Beautiful" w/snoop, and "Frontin'..."
I kind of agree with most of you in that the "old-school" hip-hop/rap music was way better (i.e. KRS-One, Rakim, The Roots, Biggie, Tupac...even some of Busta, Jay-Z, and Nas' old stuff were good too...)...they "kept it real" (i.e. not focusing on the girls, material things...)...
I'm kind of with the new stuff too but some of it I just get turned off from b/c most of newer rappers/hip-hop artists just talk about the same ol' things...only a few of them are still "creative" with their rhymes...that's just my opinion. |

I hate hip hop and always had and probably will.
I donno if it is that the genre is in the wrong hands or i donno what odd reason that there's no more quality and creativity in the music. It just simply sucks now.
I can see hip hop dieing. slowly but surely it's goin downward. |
