I'd nominate Madonna's album then. That way, I know I'll have selected a sure-fire winner, get credit for my 'intuitive' judgement on the nomination committe, and plus give props to a fellow Ciccone!
A musically artistic worthy nomination though? Er, since when has the Grammies ever been about that? |

The category at the awards is "dance," not "trance."

So, according to you, Madonna is eligible for best dance recording, because that's for pop artists, but she's not eligible for best Electronic/Dance Album, because that's just for dance artists.
If that's the case, then why were the Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and LCD Soundystem nominated for both of them last year? Are they pop or dance artists, since you seem to think there's such a big ing difference between the two.
Fortunately, the Academy doesn't consult you when it makes its nomination selections, as it disagrees with your notion of dance and pop being separate entities (psst: they aren't), thus violating your cherished musical identity that insists on listening to cheesy bull dance music, but not that cheesy bull dance music.
Get over yourself, seriously. Madonna will sweep. I called the shot. |
