good times but, way too many floats to see with so little time, D Fuse,Dj Dan, Andy Moore, Bennasi, all laid down great sets and it seemed as if there were alot more people than last year. Did anyone catch the naked guy rubbing one out in front of everyone??WTF was that all about:wtf: ??????
F.Y.I. be carefull of those damn cookies people are selling, we decided to buy some thinking it would be fun, only to be sent back the hotel early feeling like a crack head:eyespop:
its too bad because there were so many sets I missed-CLaw,Burridge,Pole Folder,Rennige Pilgreme etc....:(

Ended up at Ruby Skye for their after party. I was supprised to see such a cool crowd being the night that it was. Benny came on and rocked it, other than a little over use of the loop button and the fact that he played alot of played out toons he still played a great set-lots of dirty electro house!but WTF is with a 2 hour set??!!! generally Ruby has dj's play 3-4 hour sets, as soon as it seemed like he was starting to get it going he was off??

overall had a great time
can't wait until next year!!!!!!!!!!!

suggestion for next year-Posted set times and Bigger floats, with less of them...20 floats is was too many for that litlle of a space..maybe 6-7 HUGE stages with headlining Dj's on each stage, because some of the smaller floats get drowned out by the bigger ones. and SOMEONE PLEASE BOOK DIGWEED on the spundae float next year!!!!

Well the afterparty was packed by 12:00. Half the Bleachers taken and every hallway and dancefloor just filled with people. Of course the grossly overpriced food was even lower in quality than expected. Did VIPs have free catered food? Anyway, The sound system in the trance room was just :wtf: HUGE, Somethin like 4 4x15" cabinents, 15 12" and 3 megatweeters, for EACH SIDE of the stage.

I reason Skills collected an amount well over 500,000 dollars from the afterparty.

i had this whole mental itinerary of floats to find and djs to see for the festival, well that all went out the window when we got there... we intercepted the parade at 3rd street and immediately i noticed how much easier it was to follow alongside the floats. last year the crowd was always a few steps slower than the floats, which was annoying. i did manage to go by every float during the parade, but by the time all the floats were arranged in the plaza i was so faded over at the rockit float i didn't even realize i spent 2 hours there. man that sound amplifies well off the department of public health building :p. ironically enough i did spend 10 min in a port-o-potty line against the public health building that didn't move because a couple was porkin inside. i left that line when i saw another couple in front of me walk in :o. the rest of the time i was hangin out around the spundae/skills float, watching breaker battles in the area or just chillin on the grass. the crowd was very mixed and very diverse--and that would be the understatement of the year. ages ranged from like 1 to 70 and every type of person you could imagine was there, which was cool  i thought the weather was great too. it was sunny and warm all day into the evening when the fog rolled in. i can never get used to how FAST time flies at lovefest. i ended up missing at least half the djs i came to see on saturday :( i think it's impossible to make your way around every float, i tried for 2 years and failed :toothless

the afterparty was a good experience other than the entry system they had in place. i think we lined up around 8:10 hearing the box office would open at 8:30. well no one was at the box office until 9ish, meanwhile the crowd amassing at the booth was literally about to kill each other between the verbal exchanges and pushing. once the ticket office opened it wasn't much better. they were literally processing the list 1 person every few minutes until we got in around 9:30. everyone in line was murmuring what a buzzkill the whole situation was. i was baffled after seeing how lightening quick the popsicle line went.

anyway, once inside it was all good. we headed straight for the vip area just to check it out and it was much better than last year's. first of all the food room didn't look like a tornado had struck first. there was good food and good drink: fresh sushi, wraps, fruit, cookies and non-generic drinks. the vip stages gave people a reason to stay backstage which made it seem more like a place to hang out and not just some dark hiding spot you stumbled upon. the crowd on the main floor was better in my experience. i didn't see any huge e-puddles or get assaulted by overzealous ravers, in fact no one bothered me at all. i still find it disturbing to see grown men and women sucking on pacifiers though... i spent the last few hours up in the bleachers and wow what an amazing light show you get from up there, i mean damn! :eyespop: bill graham was PACKED up until the end, from the stage you could see the crowd stretch all the way into the hallways, which were filled too.

ps: christopher lawrence OWNED the afterparty!

+1

the last three years I have tried to see everything and failed. I really hope over the next couple of years they can go for quality over guantity, WAY TOO many floats. they should go to 6-7 HUGE stages instead of the- 16 small ones, 3 medium ones, and then the Skills/Spundae monster float.
NO!
the sf house float was just beastly. seriously. The crowd there was hella into it.

I didn't go to the after party this year, but last year there were line problems too. Next year, they just need to fix it and the parade will be perfect.

Seems like some people think there were a little less peeps, some peeps think there were more. Going by pics, I think there were indeed more.

A lot of people were really worried about how the turnout would be this year, largely just because there hasn't been a ton of promotions in SF.

Well, during the talk Rich and I had with the founder of SFLP/LF, he said that they focused their promotions on other cities this year. Down in LA, Vegas, etc...and I guess it paid off.

He said promotions for LoveFest 2007 will begin in JANUARY. That will be great!

One thing I did notice about the afterparty sound was that it was very clean!!! It was great.

And holy cow to the lasers. Thought I was at a European Massive!!

I heard the production was bumped up this year and I'll be damned it was and BIGTIME.

Next year, they just need to go crazy with 20-color lasers.

I really, really hope that they get a dead set solid date by the time they start their promotions in January and get the venue booked with Spundae and Skills doing the party once again...because that will allow Spundae and Skills to work on a huge lineup real early and have an easier chance at getting any DJ they want.

Lots of good pics here. From Alain's (Spundae resident) roommate.

my first love fest and it was amazing ... got in at 2pm and stayed till the music ended at 8:15 .... music was ok but i dont think i have ever experienced a vibe like this before (especially at the after party) .. people were having a great time and were very friendly

the decision of whether or not to go to the after party was made a lot simpler when we ran into a guy selling tickets for $20 which was quite surprising considering they were going for 60 at the door ... got to the party about 11:30 and walked straight in ... no waiting in line (thank god for that)

the lazers were insane and the crowd was a pleasent change from the pushy bitches ive encountered at 1015 folsum and ruby skye in my short time in cali ...

missed andy moor but christopher lawrence was amazing ... junkie xl was probably the highlight of the night with his air guitar antics .. funny thing - when junkie opened with red pill blue pill , the projector displayed at sign saying take both pills and then a picture of junkie with the caption - i took both pills

oakenfolds first hour was boring but last half hour was very good and above and beyond were meh music wise but did a great job getting the crowd moving ..

the only negative of the day was naked tansvestites .. seriously nothing scares a guy more than seeing boobs and looking down and seeing a penis .. that was gross

what planet were you on? the music ended at 4 yo.

Your post is super confusing.

BTW, peeps im editing everything I have, including obtaining the video from backstage which will be hosted on dreamingindigital.org, my site.

Once copies are finished, I will let everyone know.

Also. Combined with Artimus and Tigga's camera, we have over 600+ photos to go through. good thing I brought the lappy for storage.

I'll be posting my review of the party tonight here as well, as soon as I get home from work.

Hello everyone!
