You have a bizarre reasoning on your equipment needs.

Why do you need a DJM-1000 in the first place?

Are you using 6 inputs?

Are you mixing six tracks at once?

Why is the option of turbo charging your car a deciding factor on what mixer you will use? Shouldnt it be determined by what suits your mixing needs first?

I do not know the differances between the 800 and 1000, but I will say this: If you only need the features of the 800 and the extras of the 1000 are not used, go ahead and sell it if you want. You won't be losing anything. However, if do use the extra stuff, then don't sell it.

It's a lot of cash to spend modifying the engine to run a turbo just to run 3 or 4 psi :( 15 or 20 psi is more like it :D  If you really gotta stick with the ricer can't you stick a supercharger on it?

As for the mixer, surely the mighty DJM800 is sufficient for sirs needs? :)

im actually getting hooked up for the turbo kit. my friend owns www.lsdmotorsports.com so hes making me a custom exhaust manifold, custom fuel system, custom piping etc etc. running 3-4psi as a daily and 7-8 psi max for extra fun. once i get my head ported and the cams in maybe i can push 5-7 psi daily. as for a SC the engine on mine, the d17 doesnt have a SC available for it. i was really considering swapping in a k20a2 but i really dont think it'll be worth the 3 grand.

Great, now you can close the topic.

Perhaps you can continue it here:

LOL I like this thread. "Should I sell this ridiculous mixer I don't need, so I can get a ridiculous turbo kit I don't need?"

i planned on using 6 inputs, two cdjs, two tt's, my efx, and my macbook but i sold my tt's because i dont use them at all. and honestly who mixes six tracks at once? i mean i wanted to sample from one track and do some layering and stuff but i've been using live and that its ing awsome to make your own mashups and etc.

and the reason a turbo kit is somewhat is deciding factor is because if i do what i want to do its a lot of extra cash that i wouldnt have to wait for. i hate touching my savinigs accounts. if someones offers to buy my djm1000 for the price im asking im going to do it if not imma wait.

Turbocharging a D17 @ 3-4 PSI is a waste. You'll make, what, 40 Hp? If that? Besides, you can run 10 pounds safely with a proper setup, why go less? IMO save your money for a better car.

on a proper build, which im doing, i will make 45-55 hp running 3-4 psi. thats just for daily driving, for a little extra get up and go. for real fun i'll have it at 7-8psi. easily at 200hp easy. many d17's with sf kits have pushed between 200-230 hp at 7-9psi depending on the tuning. yea there will be sooo many cars out there faster and quicker but i'm not doing it to race other cars. i just want my car to be a little bit quicker to get around in. my car is paid off and the last thing i want is a car payment.

someone offered me 1900 for my djm1000 so if that goes thorugh then its done. we'll see how it plays out.
