I remember almost nothing from this night, except for Piet (Rank 1)'s set!
BLEW ME AWAY! !! I never stopped moving once Rank came on (before that is a whole different matter!)
I was instantly energized once Piet hit the decks! What a DJ and gracious guy! He was entertaining the crowd w/ their request for much of the night.
A seriously top-notch DJ, producer and gentleman! I cannot wait till hes back in town again! I hope its soon already! :cool:
Ill post more once I get home, and see what information and memories I can pull from my brain that havent already been permanently forgotten because of Molson Canadian.
Defintely looking forward to hearing more of your review, my fellow Rank 1 whore and TOTA brutha. :) But it defintely sounds like you had a great time! Wish I could have been there with you, bro.

Tyler, INSANE insane! Piet was ing godly Saturday night! I was tired up to the point before he came on, but then, honestly, like the second he hit those decks, I was instantly energized!
His set was ing brilliant and phenomenal!
Best set of the night w/o a question of doubt from me!
He reaffirmed by Rank 1 is my favourite DJ now! !

I really should have treated myself to Mark on thei 10 year anniversary! Bad call on my part! I always love what mark does! He almost never in the past has let me down! Very consistent and a truly great DJ IMO.

Piet was as good as I had expected. Great closing set for the night.
Plenty of space to dance, comfortable temperature, and great tunes to damce to.
Opening with Age Of Love was just fantastic after IM.

I literally had my eyes closed and internalized the sounds.....and I was transported to a massive rave/warehouse party in my minds eye - I became the music - moved to the music - became a musical instrument basically.......no word of a lie - because of my ability to sense/anticipate tonal changes and notations in EDM - I was perfectly conducting the beats.....perfect room to dance - the teasing of the tracks - track transitioning - connecting with the DJ - glances - the WIKKID WIKKID mantra - smiles and pumping hard chugging beats.....
IN OTHER WORDS THE BEST SET I HAVE HEARD THIS YEAR........because of a combination of all the right elements at the right time (i.e. friends...NADA WHERE WERE YOU?????? He Played SHIVERS....FTW!!! and it sounded soooooo good.....i screamed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY NADA WIKKID WIKKID!!where are you???? ing song.....oh yeah! WHAT WHAT.....dance that - PLAY THAT - mix that ....HOW CAN IT END THIS WAY (WHERE MY NADA AT??) DONT LEAVE ME LOVE ME jesus Nada where are you???...DANCE DANCE DANCE all the while smiling and feeling good about thinking of you presence beside me...Nada if you were there - I was so ready to tear it up with you so I had to dance for the both of us...I did us proud bitch...MUAH!!
Set ended at 6:30 we were left wanting more - bouncers told us to get out...BOO....and Piet came down and talk to everyone - reminded me very much of Christopher Lawrence from a previous Ultraspin event.....sorry Jamie he did not play that Breathing (breaks mix) I am sure he very well might have as he did an awesome job of playing peoples requests and making people feel special by the fact that he played THEIR song....I still think that song requests should be accepted/pondered for play by the DJ in certain circumstances and Piet is one to be interactive with his dancefloor (an awesome quality in a DJ) and a probable reason why we enjoy his appearances here.
I introduced myself to Piet and gave kudos...then went into the main room -
Sean, thank you for deliberately pointing me out to Piet and introducing him to me! That was awesome of you. I'm glad I stuck around to shake his ing hand and tell him how phenomenal set was!
Ive only ever down that on ONE (1) other occasion, and that was DAVE the Drummer at WEMF, and once again, his set (my 3rd favorite of the year, his renegade stage one) was so mind-blowing good that I simply couldnt NOT shake the mans hand and tell him what an experience it was to behold !
The same went for Piet Sat night!

Rank's set was all that I could ask for, and was the 2nd best set I've heard all year! It was that good. Had a ing blast Saturday night - exactly what I expected and hope would be :D

If I was to say two things I would have loved, would have been to have heard
1) THE BREAKS DUB of Breathing instead :D (I'm a Breaks Dub whore, I know! :whip: :whip: )
and 2) Heard a different remix of Age of Love w/ the vocals intact! ;)
Its one of those classics, like Born Slippy where you just lose urself in the song and wanna hear those vocals to shout out too!!

holy , hearing "In your loving arms" was undescribable, it made my night but also killed it. Got too emotional during that song and had to leave the kool hause.
Got to hear about 5 min of Infected Mushrooms set and it was horrible. i always wanted to see them to support my fellow Israeli's, lol....but they were crap so i went to the main room and drink...nothing special either.
Went back for Rank 1, they were good...but i only enjoyed 1 of every 3 songs they played....too lovey dovey trance so i didn't stay to the end but i wish i did cause i heard it got really good at the end :(
overall the night wasn't anything special....so looking forward to 10 YEAR!!!!!

Bc I swore that I heard the Breaks Dub coming in... and was going mental.................... and then 2 mins later I was liek, , no this isnt it.. WTF... its the Orig mix... and then i was like "WTF, how did I ing guess that wrong" and was semi imbarassed bc the Breaks Dub is my first or second fave track of all time, so for me to miss ID it was pretty brutal on my part...
but i figure it was bc i was so hammered...
but now I konw! A ig mashup tune! SOLID!!!!!!! I wasnt going crazy, yes it wasnt the Brekas Dub, but now I understand how i originally thought that.
THis whole experience of Ultra Spin 11 ahs really been a mind for me! :D that most ed up Ultra yet! LOVES IT!
