that years after this "mess" we like to call the Iraq War began, the media doesnt bother to probe and find the shadiness WE ALL KNOW was behind it....

and then a sex-talk scandal comes along, and theyre the most investigative journalists in the history of mankind? this country and its priorities and its media sickens me, in that respect.... and you know what, theyre giving what the average american WANTS, the average american doesnt want to turn on the TV and hear about the almost 3000 deaths in Iraq.... they want to tune into the world news and experience an almost National-Enquirer-like investigation of a sex scandal.... how do u guys feel about this?

I worked for a subsidiary of MSNBC (feedroom.com) back in 98-00 around the desert storm era and we would receive 0day video feeds. From sitting in the editorial board to seeing the finish product, I can say the media shapes their version of the story almost 300% differently then what was shown in those reuter feeds. That's uncut footage streamed to our facility...some of the stuff I've seen at that age really set me into place about how much we should believe when we watch the news.

eyeah seriously.... just look at the 2004 Presidential Race and what a ing CIRCUS that was (first, the whole "yeeeeee" that brought Howard Dean down in a matter of a few days, and then the Kerry "flip flop" word and the Windsurfing thing and bringing into question that Kerry was descendant of French people (OMG!!!!!) and the purple heart debacle)... its such a JOKE when u really step outside the box and look in

People are stupid, particularly in this country. Get used to it. I used to be more disillusioned when I was your age, now I've just accepted it and expect nothing. At least you get the benefit of being pleasantly impressed when someone isn't a moron.

Try living in Congo or china. Though our goverment sucks, our quallity of life is much better than a lot of the world. And if people were really concened with the state of the goverment rather than bitching on a forum they would be out campaigning.

I feel that Americans, today, are soft when it comes to our military...especially when we take casualties. Yes, 3000 dead soldiers sucks but more than that probally died storming Omaha Beach in World War 2 in the first HOURS, and that was just one battle of that war.

If the media coverage of today was back then we would never of gone to war (probally). Americans have become Clintonesque when it comes to taking casualties. You then have paranoid intelects like Michael Moore who goes around asking Congress men if THEY would send their sons to die in the war, an absolute rediculous thing to do when our military in 100% voluntary and no one is sent anywhere unless they sign-up.

If you ask me people like it better when it is out of sight because then of course it is out of their minds. Americans have become real cowards compared to yesterday.
