Eh, the media is owned and controlled by just a handful of conglomerates. They'll continue to report the same garbage. It helps to watch world news broadcast by other countries (one of the only reasons I miss having cable tv). Thankfully with this global information revolution underway, there's a lot that can't be kept from people as long as they feel like going out of their way to look. As the internet and telecommunications expand over the next decade, perhaps the media will have no choice but to start reporting real news. That's just wishful thinking though.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 is set to expire next year. I wonder who will be the first to report that. :rolleyes: |

If the media coverage of today was back then we would never of gone to war (probally). Americans have become Clintonesque when it comes to taking casualties. You then have paranoid intelects like Michael Moore who goes around asking Congress men if THEY would send their sons to die in the war, an absolute rediculous thing to do when our military in 100% voluntary and no one is sent anywhere unless they sign-up.
If you ask me people like it better when it is out of sight because then of course it is out of their minds. Americans have become real cowards compared to yesterday. |

2. You're right about the casualties of war being low. The difference is that wars were worth it before.
3. It's ridiculous that they'd send volunteers and not be willing to volunteer themselves.
Lastly, this country is getting the opposite of Clintonesque. The middle of this country (the area increasing in population, thus voting power) is controlling all of it now. They have no regard for intellectuals and to be honest, at this point, I say them. I'll be happy watching this country crumble by the time I die because the people will have ignored the educated because they'd prefer personality and religion over knowledge and intelligence. When I look at how much support the common man gives the Republicans who stab them in the back on every economic area possible, because they cater to their morals, I just laugh because they're getting exactly what they pay for. |

Get used to it, no one cares. You're in the minority of people that care because most aren't directly affected and/or don't care because they're not interested in living now, just in the afterlife, where all will be better. |

Sadly, people are more affected by it then they think. But this country will continue to run itself into the ground. |
