Nobody knows for sure, but there are a number of fairly accurate assessments that there have been anywhere from 20K to over 100K civilian deaths caused from the fighting in Iraq. Seriously use your brain for a second... if there are roughly 3000 coalition soldiers killed, and the coalition has all the money and the deadliest weapons, then it doesn't take a genius to figure out that a load of Iraqi civilians have been killed in the process due to said weapons being openly used... Or are you one of those who believe that 'precision guided' bombs only kill the enemy and have no 'collateral damage'?

3000 SOLDIER deaths in a war over 4 years is nothing.

No!! I am one of those who beleive that the US Government strategically attacks as many civilians as it can. Yes we spend money on laser guided weapons but that is only to deceive my fellow stupid Americans who watch CNN and FOX.

that years after this "mess" we like to call the Iraq War began, the media doesnt bother to probe and find the shadiness WE ALL KNOW was behind it....

and then a sex-talk scandal comes along, and theyre the most investigative journalists in the history of mankind? this country and its priorities and its media sickens me, in that respect.... and you know what, theyre giving what the average american WANTS, the average american doesnt want to turn on the TV and hear about the almost 3000 deaths in Iraq.... they want to tune into the world news and experience an almost National-Enquirer-like investigation of a sex scandal.... how do u guys feel about this?

Im an international student living in the U.S, I feel the media has so much power on their hands, it scares me. I think that the media is focusing now more on buying advertising and cheap thrills rather than informing and educating.
Now more than ever, it's more healthy and wise to go to school and get yourself inform with facts. If you can't, you can still read books and therefore share different opinions with other, hopefully educated people.

my 2 cents

$5.50 is minimum wage in most states, pa (coupled with ridiculous prices in health insurance and car insurance and schooling and taxes, that a lot of other countries dont have to pay!!.... i love the "in other countries u cant do half" (trails off).... listen... theres a buttload of countries you can do twice the things you can do here, so dont base your criticism ON criticism on how Cuba or Venezuela or N. Korea.... its 2006 dude, thers a lot of countries better than us, that put our constitution and so-called bill of rights to shame....

i dont know what things ure thinking, what i was trying to say was that in usa the quality of life is different, in mexico its normal for u to turn on the tv and hear someone u know was kidnapped or like that. and that goes to most south america except for a few small countries. in america u have a much wider middle class spectrum which allows people to build a much more comfortable lifestyle. that IS the most important thing of all!! understand that in other undeveloped cuontries you will have RICH people and POOR people no middle class! so the poor people will always be in pain because they are poor and the rich people will keep getting richer, this is an unhealthy economy and youwill find this in most third world countries LIKE YOUR BELOVED CHINA! listen i'm not trying to argue with you , i understand where youre coming from but don't put down your country, don't be such a pessimist, you know what i mean? america is a great place to live if not the best place to live. obviously, some epople will disagree but some people like vanilla and some like chocolate...

in examples such as this, everyone always brings out the worst examples.... Central America, undeveloped countries, etc.... dude, theres so many countries out there with really good economies and wayyyy better ways of life.... what about almost all of europe, what about sweden and norway and australia and singapore and CANADA and so many other countries i could go through.... for the record, im fine here, im lucky to have a hardworking immigrant family that worked the capitalist system and used education to get to the top, but that was THEN and this is NOW and things are and have changed for the worse

well, people like you are the types to say going against the war is undermining the troops (dont say youve never said it).... ur totally undermining the dead troops and families by saying that 3000 in 4 years is nothing, did u not read what i said?

"3000 people died on 9/11 and BUSH used it as a pretty god dam big reason to go into Iraq (which drained billions of dollars and has resulted in 40,000-50,000 deaths of civilians over there and has wasted 4 years).... how small do 3000 deaths seem now?"

Actually i have never said that....but...i am not meaning to undermine them...just saying that everytime a soldier dies the media does a full biography on that soldier....we cant take casualties...as Bin laden said we are "Paper Tigers".

And again whats with the name calling?
