Getting money will initially give you pleasure, but once you get used to being rich, it won't make you any happier.

I think this really works only for the materialistic. Money doesn't buy happiness, because there's always more things to buy. I consider myself to be rather post-materialistic, and I truly believe that money would make me happy. Money is freedom. If I decided that I wanted to be in tokyo by the end of the day, I could. To me, that's happiness - not being bound by things and places. Historically, the more money I had, the happiest I was.

You're not too smart, are you? The truth is that most suicides are money-related. But just because one has money, doesn't mean that all their problems are over. What if the person doesn't have a family? What if the person is terminally ill? So many other things can lead any rich person to drown their sorrows with scotch everyday, or go a step further and shoot their brains out. Any celeberity suicide can tell you that...

if I pick rich does that mean I wont be happy. If i pick happy does that mean I wont be rich. Im already happy, so I'll pick rich to accompany the happiness.

Happy. I believe you can experience happiness that money can't buy.

Unless you go broke:rolleyes:

Go ask a homeless person if 5 dollars would make them happy.

Stupid question that one can not answer unless they have been flat broke and had no where to live...

Money or happiness?
MONEY any day of the week.

Well if you have both, you really can't decide now can you.

Me, as a NYer, living in South Florida - many people here I know, prefer wealth over happiness. Personally, I prefer happiness, over wealth. I've said all my friends in South Florida, and they look at me like :wtf:, because they were born with the wealthy lifestyle, and live in ridiculous homes, all over Boca Raton, and Coral Springs.

For myself, I've seen both ends of the spectrum. My parents were very well-off, when I lived at the family home. So, it's fair to say, I've acquired a taste for finer things in life. However, living on my own has been a totally different experience. It's not easy, choosing to moving out of your home right after college, with close to nothing in your name, because your father is impossible to live with. So, I know what it's like to be broke (yet, not in debt), and living the good life.

In conclusion, I'm grateful for everything I have.

From experience, the thought of being rich isn't everything to me. Without happiness, you can't live a productive life. Money can't buy happiness. There are many people with a lot of money, who live miserable lives, and eventually may take drugs and/or alcohol, living a life of destruction.

If you think money can't buy happiness then you aren't shallow enough.

Naw, I don't think money can buy happiness. But enough money would keep me distracted enough not to care.:D
