How old are you people?

I bet most of the people who voted for happiness over wealth are still kiddos with people to back them if they fail...namely their parents....therefore you can not objectivly answer this question honestly.

yes
well i have had money and have also been without.

money comes and goes, but happiness is the key to making you get off your ass and making some coin;)

Yes very true. Ive had money come & go. ATM im not making anywhere near the money i should be making, but im happy & content at the moment. And happier in life then i was at times when i did make alot of money. But like alot of people do, i made more problems because of the money.

well i had a high paying job full of stress that had a hand in destroying a long term relationship.

Now im in a rebuilding stage, i might not be able to spoil myself and others like in the past...but have still managed to find things and people to make my life feel more fulfilling than when i had no time for anyone and my account was full.

You need work to live, not live to work.

right now all i want is a career that will allow me to be happy yet meet certain financial goals...anything more is just icing on the cake.

unfortunatly sometimes it is easier said then done, but as long as i am happy i'll never stop trying.

It’s easy to say this when we’re young. Sure we can get by with the bare minimum and think we’re happy, but how long can this last?

Trust me when you’re 65 years old and you’re broke, living in a dinky little apartment in the worst part of town, relying on your measly social security income to get by then you will look back and regret your answer. And can we be really certain that Uncle Sam will be able to support us in the future? With such a precarious economic climate only a fool would rely on his/her government to support them in old age.

If we were more family oriented as say many Asian cultures are then we could take comfort in the fact that our kids will take care of us, but no we’ll live out our old age alone and our children, who we kicked out of the house at 18, will only show up at our death beds curious if they’re in the will
