I don't listen to any hiphop/rap/whatever. Last time I checked, what I said is what I heard in a Lil Kim song, granted, she's probably what you consider bad but whatever, EDM4LIFE :gsmile:

Last time I checked hip hop records were made with the same gear dance music records were made with. It's electronically made and definetely for dancing. They came from the same time and they have roots in the same city. Your lack of knowledge about hip hop is reflected in the your hate for it.

Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

/hip hop fan for life.

I love hip hop too, but the gangsta rap (which wasn't so bad when it started; NWA, early Cube etc.) that is heard in clubs these days is . Fiddy and Diddy and co. that make rap all about the 4Bs (bitches, blunts, booze and bullets) ...
and one glaring difference between hip hop and edm is the former's emphasis on lyrics and words.

But Erika you must respect HipHop!
I still listen to the good rap: Wu-Tang,Nas,Mobb Deep,Mos Def, (Mobb Deep fell off big time now that they're with G-unit but their early is amazing, especially the productions by Havoc)

Exactly, now change all that rap stuff to trance or house and that's exactly how they would describe dance music. Cheesey epic garbage vs the good we all know about.

Obviously there is a huge vocal aspect of hip hop, it's one of the genre's main instruments. It really is part of that culture, I know some hip hop heads in new york, you'll find them rappin on the street, kicking it, etc. If those sort of vocals aren't your cup of tea, that's cool, but at least try and have some knowledge of an actual music scene (not the commercial cheesey crap) and get to know it a bit before judging it.

We'd say the same to any hip hop head dissing the sort of music we like.
