I hear ya...but did you ask yourself why those kids would disrespect (god I hate that word, lol, but it works in this case) their parents in the first place? maybe because they have a relationship with them?
when kids turn out to be little s, I blame the parents first. Kids don't become disrespectful little thug pricks on their own...it's the environment they grow up in. Spanking or not spanking them doesn't make them "good people"...it just keeps them in line until their old enough to either hit you back or be kicked out of the house, lol.

you are right...
i was spanked and slapped when needed but i did have an excellent relationship with my parents...
kids are a product of the environment they grow up in ...in most cases...sometimes however there is just some thug prick kids lol |

that my mother had a heat seeking wooden spoon. id cut corners roll under tables jump couches and look behind me and the damn thing was still following me. make the last quick cut around the corner, stop to ctach my breath and boom it make the corner and thud across the back of the head. and then it would ricochet and land back in my mothers hands as shes running to frog splash me while im down. shes repeatedly slap me across the face hog tie my socks together and carry me off with my socks attached to the wooden spoon like a defeated hunted wild boar and whisk me to my room where i stayed in confinement for 4 hours till i found a way to break out my window.
and that my friends is how u hunt children, not the way eviltree does it with stalking them on the net first and then inviting them over to play scrabble |

On a serious note, MarkT, I've seen several of those ads and if the intention was as you say (which I fully agree with personally) it was not apparent at all. I didn't like the ad either for the same reasons as Jayx1, because it only focused on spanking and didn't make the remotest reference to communication or talking.
The ad should have been "TALK to your kids" not "Don't SPANK your kids".

The smack on the side of the ass really should be as far as it ever goes.
If you plan on using physical force on a child who is smaller, weaker and is still physically and mentally developing you better have some really good self-control. Unfortunately alot of parent don't! Going even just abit over board could cause long term damage.
Many former friends I knew growing up whos parents gave there well desrved beating/smacking whatever you want to call it:rolleyes: Turned out to be pretty fuct up in adulthood. Either in prison or serious overabuse of drugs. The connection was obvious.
Hitting kids is really backwards and in bad taste! |
