he made a mix. the tracks are good. the title of it refers to Dj who just cane top 10 beatport . this isn't a reference to those 'top 10" tracks being in the actual mix.

it's subtle commentary and a shot at those who just rip those top 10 tracks

personally, i think it's well executed.

There are two tracks in the mix in BP's Top 5 atm. :)

And I'm not sure how doing exactly what the people you're supposedly mocking is a "subtle commentary" or "shot" at them :)

Ok, and?

You say yourself:

*not ripping on beatport at all, just the beatport DJ's who think the only tracks out there are the ones on the charts*

So I ask you, what's the point of this beyond making fun of Beatport DJ's who only use the top 10's to guide what they play? I don't think there is one. And as I see that as the only point, I struggle with how doing EXACTLY what you're making fun of (solely playing tracks that have appeared in seperate genres "Top 10" lists) is at all "subtle."

I gather from your post you think you're pretty clever for doing this, but I'd say you'd have spent your time better by actually putting out something with some artistic merit to it, rather than this "commentary" on DJ's you see yourself as better than.

???? if you dont see a point in it... then why are you getting your panties all in a bunch over something that is pointless?

I'm not. This is an internet discussion board, and you offered your mix up for discussion. Those were my contributions.
Aquadyne
here's my contribution.

i don't get anything from mocking all your opinions either but i still do it.

-------------------
this was a very well executed marketing/promotional idea. it's a clever pun on what is a widely recognized brand name. which makes the creator look not only witty, but also leverage the brand name recognition to make the name of his promo more memorable. i can draw diagram of how this works if needed be.

2 months from now on i will remember the name beatwhor

i cant even remember what the name of the remix that the hamptons just put out is, ALTHOUGH i listened to the track YESTERDAY.

But i will tell you is that i remember that that it's the "popped Collar Remix"

why? because it's a funny cliche that is memorable.

you know what i think when i hear Centrum?

geriatrics.

beatwhor is brilliant. i wish i thought of that name.

delobbo
I feel the same way. And what about the beatwhor logo? Where did that come from? If he made that himself, well damn, that is some attention to detail.
delobbo
and oh yea..

drama = good.
