FIRST OF ALL HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THE MIX???? cuz i think its pretty good...

anyway i make a lot of promos in my own style made entirely of vinyl that i find...
however they are a little less main stream, a lot more experimental, and seem to get overlooked a lot on forums. soooo hence ive whored out and made a mainstream mix (in my own style of mixing) of top songs that ive bought from beatport because i like them...

i just think its bull that a lot of good music gets passed over because its not a big name producer or dj

beatport provides an awesome service: you can get 5 songs for the price of one import vinyl, its available immediately and its universal to everyone with a computer. It is also is a great way for up and coming producers to get their work heard and sold for that matter. However, the scene started from DJ's spending hours searching through rows of records and finding a sound that was one of a kind, unique. A lot of mixes now seem to feature the same weekly chart hit...

Just a note to anyone who thinks their mix gets overlooked because it's too "experimental," that's probably not the case.

The mixes that garner the most attention on TA are generally made by TA's who contribute the most to the forums, and don't just use it as a means to promote themselves. TA really is a community where you get what you give, and if you take the time to actually listen to others work, and then pass along your thoughts, you'll generally get a lot more feedback. The bottom line is the reason you're not getting feedback is because you aren't giving any.

Some of the most eclectic and "out there" sounding mixes actually end up getting the most attention, not the least. Not everyone here wants "mainstream" sounding tunes.

If that advice would be applicable to anyone, Rob - it would certainly have to be you.

More than enough times you started talking to to someone here and had to end up swallowing your words. For your own sake, I would highly recommend some discretion. Trust me, it will serve you much better in life and in the long run.

This isn't some of threat or insult, just some friendly advice from a guy who has burned some bridges before and had to go back to rebuild them.

Definitely worth a quality laugh from time to time.
