First, stories like this speak volumes about your character.

Second, you're pretty cowardly for bailing like that on a girl you asked out.

Third, you got to have a pretty closed mind to run away from your date just for expressing her unique point of view. She was just telling you how she saw the world, not askign you to join a suicide cult or anything.

Kind of what I was thinking.

Its rare enough to meet someone that has really different views, let alone someone who's actually willing to share them openly and discuss.
Had it been me, I would have been pretty interested. Thoughts and conversations such as the ones she started may be a bit out of the ordinary, but how can you continually speak of the ordinary and still be amused by it? Don't you crave something different once in a while?

You just don't delve into that kind of stuff on a first date. If I was in Tyler's position, I might have done the same thing, lol.

At the risk of starting WWIII, I may have done too....

Perhaps not ran off but I would have gotten someone to call me with an 'emergency'

i agree with heidi here.

her point of view wasn't even that ed up. maybe we are missing the context.

ANYWAYS, who asks on a first date "What inspires you?"?. That would have turned me off immediately. I'm there to have fun. Let's talk about fun/small talk stuff.

I was gonna say that. He was the first one to initiate the convo.

Indeed, a first date is an interview, about pety things like Foods, Musical taste, etc.

Mind you, if any sentence he or she says ends with " So say my 15 cats" you have the right to run away and laugh.

I didn't read that bit (serves me right for skim reading)...

I guess you asked for it then Tyler! You should have asked if she likes the Comfort Zone!

well all this ghostbusters mumbo jumbo came out after the fact, so you know...I was ready to jet. But, other than her "new age spirituality" I gotta say, she's a damn fun girl. In fact, I might call her right now since she's only a block away on good old' ALBERT!! HAHA
