TranceAddict Top 250 DJs Poll 2006 Results (pg. 22)

Pardon my ignorance, but why wasn't Daft Punk included in this list for 2006? Is it because they aren't really "DJ's" or is it because they haven't done anything production wise in 2006?

I fail to understand why they are usually excluded in these types of popularity lists. Please someone enlighten me. Thanks. :)

I remember how Armin's 2003-2004 sets used to rock my world. I still enjoy them up to this day. Now, I've given numerous attempts to listen to his new ASOT's and livesets - and his sound is still pretty much the same, but his new sets and episodes seem impossible for me to listen to from beginning to an end. Anyway - balearic/uplifting/epic, whatever you want to call it, trance is dead to me. Occasionally I hear a nice sounding tune, but not often.

While a lot of you are aweing at Sander's 127 place jump, look at Airwave!!! 129 spots up! I would just like to say that V-Lee definitely had a great year production-wise with the 3 disk Trilogique (each disk being good in its own way), his track "Teddybear's Escape" under alias Lolo, Cape Town - Proglifter, and a couple of Antidote productions. Not to forget the fact that he has accomplished this many successful releases without going mainstream or cheesy. Which is certainly not in the case of SvD. ;)

To those of you who wonder why Sander has taken such a leap, keep in mind:
1. the amount of times his productions were on ASOT this year
2. some general positive feedback from Armin
3. he was asked to do an Essential Mix
4. Tiesto himself asked his fans to vote for him

After a combination like the one above would set any DJ cruising.

In my opinion, he would say that he is on ok dj - not great. Speaking of productions - the only track that I actually liked was Pumpkin. Others sounded average to me.

There are other tech-trance producers like Mark Norman or Marcel Woods who I find much more exciting than SvD.

...which was nothing compared to 2004 or 2005. the jump is pretty much purely down to having good DJ management who've gotten him loads of gigs all across the world & really pushed his name out there. he's been successful on the dj side because a) he's exploiting a niche for all its worth, and b) because people already know the name from his productions

still wtf is with dj rush in like 150 and sander in 7th.

i'm very dissapointed in TA.

If there were to be more techno DJ's in that list (or placed higher), please don't let it be those two muppets.

First of all, I know how this system works and I voted for people who liked as DJ's. Second, I've seen other people talk about productions on here numerous times, so as I was discussing Sandler - I just decided to drop in a word or two about his tracks. Third, be careful with language usage.
