Please recommend a good Digital Camera

I'm a newbie and haven't been following the industry.
I'm just looking for a great digital camera, that offers top quality, features, and a good price. Something I can buy at the local BestBuy or Circuit City or maybe order from Amazon.
I want excellent picture quality, usability, compact and convenient size, and I don't want to spend too much money. Advice? |

Fuji F30 or Canon SD600 or Canon SD700 IS or Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50
or if u have unlimited cash get the d70s/d80 or digital rebel xti or canon eos30d or nikon d200.
Bestbuy and circuit city is expensive, just go there and play with it then order it online. where in DC are you? |

| i would recommend any canon sd camera. i have a sd200 but will upgrade to a sd700 is for the holidays. |

how's the cybershot? whenever i record a clip inside the club with my sd200 i don't even get the music due to the loud bass and music. does the cybershot do that?
i want a camera that can record music even when the bass and music is blasting right in front of the camera. any suggestions? |

| canon is the safe camera for newbies, of course with threads like this it's always important to state the price range. The newest point & shoot cameras are always around 500$ |

i payed 251 +tx for mine but i guess i got a good deal cuz its going for 279 on the sony web sight (Canadian)
dsc w30 is a 6 mega pixel camera and i like the software that comes with it :) |
