| I was told by three dentists that I needed to have them removed. I ignored them all, and I still have all my wisdom teeth - now fully grown in without any significant problems. As a result, the only wisdom I can impart is to regard the procedure with due skepticism. |

this is the worst of the scenarios. I had my bottom 2 dug out in 2000. The actual procedure was fine, was in theatre about 40 minutes max. I was given codeine & paracetemol & had to take 1 of each every 4 hours for about 3 days. Just a word of advice, when you come out, you'll feel sticky around the mouth, if you do as I did, and touch it, you'll be covered in blood :p your spit may also have blood in for a day or two. You should also (dunno if its mandatory for america) gargle warm water with salt added in, as it helps sterilize & helps the healing of the wounds. bar that eating there will hurt for a while, until you get used to it & heal back up. No biggie mate :) |

unless she's afraid of waking up during surgery, it won't do nothing other than inconvenience her for a few days. Poor bloke in the bed next to me had had to have an emergency circumcision after a football accident. he was pissed off cos he was 27, wanted to bang his gf and needed a fag afterwards, even though he was told not to smoke. |

get it done in day surgery, you're out cold from the easy full anaesthetic before anything goes in your gob. 1 4 second scratch for that in the arm is way better than the needles. I had to have 2 teeth out under local & it included 2 needles actually into the root of the teeth. That was a pain i'd never wanted to repeat! |

needle if it's done in an operating theatre, plus the fact they're being dug out I'd have to say they probably will. I had mine done one saturday morning. Didn't help that I was hungover from the friday night, me & my friend got drunk & she was winding the hell out of me about scare-tactics, and she kept urging me to drink more. spent the 7-11am wait in the dayward pissing about 2000 times :| |

i'm assuming it's going to be one in the daytime. and in consultation, they told me if i wanted to be knocked out, they'd give me a needle (if i remember correctly in my arm). 2 needles to the root??? wtf?????? |

1 in each tooth. Apparently it was necessary so he could literally pull the teeth out with brute force (just rocking them from side to side) it was definitel ya weird experience, yet it didn't hurt as such. He's not my dentist now (he moved to another town) and the guy i have now is english-Indian & only a couple of years older than me, and the techniques he was taught for stuff is way different to the other (mid 30s) That injection though, was pretty horrid. |
