DJ Tiesto - Nyana (pg. 5)

The last great trance music composition (esp. CD 2) marking the end of an era. Brings back memories to the first Tiesto in Concert and a generally great year of edm events. After that, in my humble opnion, trance was dead.

One of my most memorable CDs. Takes me back to that '03 summer...

For me, at the time of Nyana, trance had peaked after the epic 97-00 era. I love the majority of trakcs on the cd and always will but for me, when it first came out, it felt like nothing more then a liveset as Tiesto had canned a lot of these tracks for months prior to this release. I always enjoyed hearing a new cd and listening to some fresh new tracks, Nyana unforuntely didn't have many of these tracks. I do have to say this cd s all over his last two cd releases which I don't even want to mention their names as they shouldn't be titled what they are....

the mixing is really awful at times. for instance. the transition between Obsession (Frank Biazzi Remix) and Planisphere - Totem.
the tracklist is decent. not something that would make me jump but tracks such as Totem and Acapulco are some of the better ones.

Tiesto was never known for his 'uber-leet' mixing abilities. Just look at some of the transitions on his ISOS series. Either way, its all about the state that the music puts you in. Tiesto is teh win for this.

in Nyana the crappy mixing really killed alot of the mood.

I still listen to it every now and again, its the best compilation cd hes done imo. Tracklisting wise.;)

yeah, still listen to cd2 every week
beautiful things, atrc & nothing made this cd so special for me years ago,
what made this cd also special is the long break between this one an his next compilations..

Really? I always considered it the worst piece of unimaginative, generic, poorly produced toss he ever slapped his name on. Apart from his Breezer remix, that is.

Omega_M
Agreed, it's not original hence maybe a bit unimaginative. But I don't see it as being poorly produced and generic.

Wasn't Nyana essentially a remake of Subtle by Design - Sirius (DJ Tiesto Remix) ? I wanted to listen to the origianl of this track. But never could find it.

pretty good cd just makes the mood mixing is not that great tracklisting is pretty decent too.nothing like GTR - Mistral
