Every time I see the horse crap that is BMI I can't help but laugh.
I'm sorry but if you're a 6' 140 lbs male you are not in anything even remotely resembling decent physical condition. You should be 175-190 at a minimum, and if you're serious about keeping in good health your frame could probably easily support another 20 lbs of muscle beyond that (or more, depending on some other physiological differences not measured by height).
Obesity gets all the attention but there are close to as many people who are chronically under-weight. |

yeah im 183 5'11 and it says im overweight. i figured i was perfect weight for my height. oh well whatever. to the mirror for me

Yeah I don't know man, it seems like they designed the thing with the assumption that the average person has the musculature of a paraplegic. I mean I don't live in the gym or claim to be in especially great physical condition but in order to get down to their normal weight range I'd have to lose about 15 lbs of muscle on top of getting down to the barest minimum amount of body fat that the human body can survive on. |
