hahaha.. well I will try Kel.
Anyhow, I left Sudbury 99 @ 3am knowing that Preach's set time was for 4am. It was an adventure just getting to the docks and the cabbing from place to place was expensive all in itself.
I got into The Docks at around 3:30am. Since I didn't have a ticket I had to pay 50$ at the door  The place was packed and it all seemed like one big sketchfest. Trying to get to coatcheck was a nightmare, then once I actually got there was told that I couldn't check my coat cuz they had taken their cash from them already.. that is a huge WTF!!!!
So I walked over to the main room and found a few of the TA's there and saw a few bouncing around behind the booth and got myself a spot close to the front of course. Anxiously waited for Astral Projection to finish up so I could hear the reason I was there. Well, I looked at the time and sure enough it is already WELL after 4am and they are still playing. I personally don't like their style and if I had known they were going to play later than 4am I would have stayed for the rest of Trentmoeller's set.
Anyhow, around 4:30 Preach finally came on. The crowd seemed excited and I know I was pumped. Of course I am bias when it comes to him spinning, but he did put together his set really well. He came on and started out with some hard techno beats, but you couldn't really hear them. :( Broken Inside is a must that of course was played and I am pretty sure I heard Poca del Machine and his remix of Crazy  :D I did not like the remix of Mr. Brightside. That song is way too overplayed and I find it almost annoying now, but the crowd LOVED it. Two things that I will say about this:
1) Someone needs to book Philippe for longer than 1 friggin hour in this city cuz 1 hour just isn't enough time imo and in a different venue!
2) The sound system at the Docks is and for the first 15 min of his set was trying to get it to work to full potential as there seemed to be some kind of short or technical difficulty where you couldn't hear the full sound.
Yes, I am a dedicated fan to him and will show up or fly half way across the world to see him play so I wouldn't have missed his set for the world considering I didn't have to travel very far to see him this time. Would I go to another Destiny party if he was only playing another hour? Probably not; he would have to play for at least 2.5-3 hrs minimum.
As for Mr. NuEra: Andrew you played an awesome set. Seems like Philippe was enjoying the start of your set as well when I was behind the booth. ;) The place was still pretty full by the time you went on and still ready to rock. Considering you looked a little nervious from afar, you certainly came out once you were up there. I am happy that you had gotten asked to close considering I wasn't there at 9 to see you play the first time. (I couldn't have handled being in that place that early, 3 hours was long enough for me..:haha:). ^5 hun :)
So overall, my experience of a Destiny party wasn't that great and yes I did have some complaints that just added to that. I was surrounded by a good group of TA's and non-TA's that made my night that much better though. Thanks guys! :) |

It was kind of unusual to see so many people mangled so early. I assuemd they were kids. When I talked to the medics, they told me they were all over 19. Sadly, for me, that's still young.
I have this bad habit of talking too much at parties.
AP good, but not really HARD HARD.
Preach suffered from some kind of sound system limitation.
NuEra's set was nice and dark; the perfect ending to a Hallowe'en partay.
LOL at the headline for the Sunday Star: IS SLEEP OBSOLETE? That morning I thought so, but now I'm pretty sure that it's still essential.
Raves do give you more variety, but I have become used to 3-4 hours sets from headline DJs. Maybe the Guv has spoiled me, maybe it's to do with advancing age.
Oh well. Time to get on with real life, maybe think about Marco V. |

I knew someone would bitch , only this time maybe you should ask destiny about the company they rented the DJ eqipment from before you automatically blame the Docks.
thier equipment was a pile of that we were trying to compensate for all night |

Not like somebody forced you to pay exorbitant amounts of money for 1.5 hours of music that turned out to be 1 hour.
Nor do I see how the fact that AP cut into Preach's set and you being upset about it has got anything to do with bitching about the soundsystem. |

Well apparently you weren't there for the beginning of his set Dima, or you were and you clearly do not remember!
I can and will bitch about what I was not impressed with. Also I don't care who it was rented from or who it belongs to. The sound wasn't to the fullest at the beginning of his set, yes it was fixed but still wasn't that great.
I am sorry I wasn't as ed up as all the other kiddy ravers in the place and actually noticed the difference in sound quality when he came on. Maybe if I had popped more E I would have been as happy as a pig in like everyone else. |
