theres no way you'd ever convince the slackjawed yokels of the US to support a conversion. , most of them cant even find iraq on a map.

I like metric measurements for volume and length. Grams suck though, because 1 gram is too small a base unit. A pox upon grams.

What you on about?

It's the standard measurement for drug amounts (weed excluded) :p

Too late, would confuse too many people. I've never understood the American system, doesn't make any sense. At least the metric system goes by 10's so it's easy to convert.

I recall hearing about how NASA ed up a satellite's course and sent it into the sun or something because some moron converted metric to american wrong.

AHAHAHAHAHA I like how some Americans know so little.
It's not "the american system" or "american" its called imperial.

Imperial units are ounces, miles, inch's etc, and metric are meters, grams etc.

"...converted to american..."

Imperials been there way before your country, and will be there way after lollerskittles

Do americans not pay for a litre of petrol at petrolstations, sorry, gas-stops?
2litres bottles of cola?

All metric, your system is like ours, you use metric for some and imperial for some. Think everywhere is pretty much the same, as older people stick to imperial, and the younger generation use metric more often in schools etc

rofl. and they call their sports "world series" when its just them playing :haha:

this is a perfect example of why metric would never catch on over the "american" system in the US.

Woowho! We made the list (unfortunately we're nothing but trees, bears, snow, and igloos).

Of course we're generalizing here.... I'm sure most Americans know it's imperial not American, they speak English not American, and no one gives a rat's ass about the "World" Series.

I vote yes. It causes all kinds of problems to be on a different measurement system than the rest of the world, and I'm always a bit embarassed when I visit friends in Canada.

But it isn't going to happen. Carter tried and failed. (Then again, Carter tried and failed at a lot of things in office.)

We pay for gas by the gallon. And they're gas stations.

Don't the Brits still use some Imperial measures?
