naw it aint like that, but why shud we hop on the bandwagon? the mile, the pound and the fluid ounce are perfectly good measuring systems for length, weight and volume, on their own...Metric: a clever system for clever people. americans=not clever |
rofl imperial is more for the clever. its easier for an idiot to count to 10. its also a lot easier for people to measure cause there is no 16 parts. its 10 parts and its always the same no matter what size of measurement your using. |

We wouldn't have to change immediately, instead of teaching kids inches/pounds/crap, why not teach them metric and have them learn the older system later? Doesn't that make sense instead of teaching the old way and having them struggle to convert to the new way when necessary? |
Didn't you take any science classes in high school or college? To be honest, in the US, you do need to know both. |

Not really, just some fields use it more than others. At some point in your life, though, most people need to learn both in America, although less so now that everyone has internet. |

I said "at some point in your life." Obviously you missed that school part, as well as the part about some fields using it more than others. It hasn't been that long since I was in school, but we learned both fairly early. In high school, unless you go to a vocational school, you do, at some point, have to learn the metric system. |

Too late, would confuse too many people. I've never understood the American system, doesn't make any sense. At least the metric system goes by 10's so it's easy to convert.
I recall hearing about how NASA ed up a satellite's course and sent it into the sun or something because some moron converted metric to american wrong. |
its not the american system. You guys didnt invent it.
The actual name is british imperial system and even they dont use it anymore!!! Its time for the US to switch. And its also time for americans to accept dollar coins! |

Yeah, we can definitely afford to just drop everything and change every sign, label, etc. in the country with absolutely no problem.
We're actually planning on doing it this Saturday afternoon along with the rest of our chores.
It's a nice little Saturday we've got planned here. |
we did it back in 1978 no problem.. Why cant you?
And per capita it cost just as much as it would you |
