*obvious exception being this post of course.

Thank you.

Imo, it dependes on how the relationship turns out and if all goes well, I'd say 3-4 months. I live away from home so keeping it a 'secret' wouldn't be a problem.

I remember with my first bf, I introduced him to my folks after a month or two and we ended up all having dinner. There were no awkward moments so the day was plain sailing.

i have to move my current relationship past the friends with benefits state before i even tell my parents about her..... mind you my mom was nagging me about it on the phone the other day....... she is far too nosy

if your parents is a nick name for what you have in your pants, first date. :toothless

but seriously, it all depends on the person, the parents and all that stuff.. so its a case by case evaluation

I think a month minimum.

The whole "meet the parents" thing is way overrated though. Too much pressure and importance placed on that first meeting.

A relationship counsellor on TV here the other week believed that the first meeting should really be quick and casual, like "hey dad, this is my boyfriend Carl Cox" on the way out or something. It doesn't need to be a basket case experience where everything goes wrong because the partner is feeling too much anxiety.

She also mentioned that as first impressions do last it's important to appear proper and slowly show the parents who you really are over time. The whole "they better like me for who I am" approach may not always be the best.

How long should it take for dragging IGK to your parents? (and possible little sisters)

How long do you think you should be seeing someone before you introduce them to your parents?

I think it shouldn't be made into a big deal. The first time they come pick you up at home (if you live with your parents) should be the first time they meet the parents. If you don't live with your parents, it should be the first time you visit. Meeting the parents is nothing, it's meeting the life friends and siblings that is the most stressful. This is at least from my experience.

depends on the parents, if they are cool then it doesn't matter, right away works. But if your parents are dicks, avoid it!
