i would get realy pissed if they booked sasha or digweed at TiL, or even worst if they booked them together there. Big Dj's belong in bigger rooms.. or small rooms but with expensive tickets and a good max capacitty |
The funny thing is....you probably wouldn't have the same amount of people there for sasha or digweed....it would be busy but the reason Sander was so packed was This is Not Miami.....which has become a commercial hit and is very popular at this moment. |

they do play the miami tune on the radio.. but i dont believe that they advertized this party to the mainstream audiance...
so people had to know by word or mouth or flyers, so im sure it wasnt that bad of a crowd.
p.s. when that miami song came out and i heard it for the first time... i was in LOVE! |

I dont think it had anything to do with "customer relations" There was really nothing that any of the bouncers could have done last night....there was litteraly hundreds of people all over the place outside, trying to pay their way in, waiting in reg. line, waiting in GL line, crowding the door, etc.... There were alot of bouncers outside doing what they could to keep it somewhat organinzed but it was too much.
The problem is the search, paying cover and coat check is all in the same tiny room. They cant consistantly shove people in the door if the room inside is completely slammed with peeps trying to pay and getting rid of their coat. IMO the staff at TIL have come a LONG way since they started the SOHO events ....
Really, anyone that went last night should have expected it to be completley nutz....imo
As the the party.....I had a great time, no complaints at all. Brad Copeland is SICK...opening set was great and he closes for Sander aswell......2 excellent sets for sure...closing was pure filth..
Sander was good......gradually got better. Played TINM twice which was pretty wack but whatever....I was hoping hed stay away from it all together.....The Around the World/changes mash up was pretty slick and at the end of his set (i think it was still him, i couldn't see the booth) he played a remix of a tom petty track haha.....awesome.
Left around 4:30 i think.......still tryin to shake this headache.
I'll be back for Lawler on New Years day. |

We arrived at TIL around 10:45pm, and stood in the line up for just over an hour, and then decided to go somewhere else. It was quite cold outside, and just the chaos outside the club wasn't very nice, especially when trying to keep a positive feeling for a night of good music and dancing...(but I did meet and chatted with some nice people while waiting :)).
We came back around 2:30am, there was no line up, but a few hopefuls standing around the door, still trying to get in, being told the same thing: that the club was over capacity that evening, and no one was allowed in.
I was really sad to miss Brad and Sander K. (I've been looking forward to this night for a while now), but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. |

It wasn't due to overcapacity. Apparently it was b/c some pig shows up at the door, flashes a badge and the whole place goes ape on lockdown. People were leaving throughout the time I was waiting there so I was hoping if the cops left inside the club I'd be able to get in, regardless I was sick of waiting period and left. Bottom line for TiL (on a night like last night) = get there REALLY early OR hope that there are no cops inside watching how packed the club gets and hope you get let in. |
