I can assist some with outplacement if you like, areas of specialty here at Hays are;

HR (my division)
Accounting and Finance
IT
Construction and Property
Office Support (Admin etc.)

Let me know if I can forward resumes on for the people who have been let go.

Thanks Rach, that's a great help.

They are doing one on ones with the people affected all day today, I believe somewhere around 40 people. Tension is thick in here to say the least.....

I've only been in the office a little over a year, and with the company for just over 5 years.... feeling really lucky to still have a job to be honest.

Is this at Moores Jeff? I worked there for 6 years and I actually know your Dad- what's going on?
Adamo
did they give a reason?
Skipper
I feel for you Jeff...at my last job there were quite a few work force reductions while I was there.

3 days after I left for my job now, my entire department was eliminated.

My pleasure:

And in the 6 years I have been doing this, I can honestly say that each time a door closes, another 2 open. It is a horrible time and people fear change like they do warfare. My advice is always to allow time for grieving, take a vacation with the redundancy payoff then come back, revamp your resume and approach looking for a job like a job - network, register with a consultant or two, practice your interviewing skills (I have some great documents that I can let your friends have) and stay positive.

I know that sounds very Dr. Phil but honestly, it works.
