I've seen guns @ the Docks on more than 1 occassion.

Usually in the posession of promoters and security, or their shady friends.

I was @ Spin Cat and ENVY for the shootings in 99/00, and have seen guns in plenty of other major establishments that most everyone on this site are patrons of.

The only difference between EDM clubs and hip-hop ones is that in one case it's the patrons carrying, the other it's the staff and inner circle.

Also, this was a stabbing from I read Jay, which the Ginos and Eastern Euros love to do. Hardly the sole domain of the black man.

Thugs come in all shapes and colours.

im not talking about race here. The white thug wannabes are just as guilty. But its the music the brings out people with that sort of mentality. Spin Cat was a rare incident especially considering how many parties were going on back then. And it was also the hole of the holes. The hip hop incidents happening now are at some pretty mainstream places.

in the 90s you RARELY if ever heard about shootings downtown. They were always in scarborough and rexdale. What changed at the turn of the century downtown? Hmmmm id have to say music format.

Personally I hate this "gino" reference. It was made up for Italians from the previous generations dub which was "guido". 90% of the time ppl who label ppl "ginos" are kids with spikey hair who are arabic or middle eastern which has nothing to do with Italy. Todays "ginos" or "vaginos" lol need a new name, too many times are their MangiaCakes taking an already bad stereotype and making us look worse. Its like branding a group of dark Indians who commit crimes "black". Its just a pissoff how certain cultures or races play off another who are totally unrelated and are a digrace and wananbes in the worst sense.

Sorry I had to

I do agree though at EDM clubs people are carrying weapons, why? Drugs are a cash business, and a territoral one and we all know that the bouncers and/or management get a cut or perks for letting the club dealer set up shop inside. I believe the mindset here is "just in case", where in a hip hop club it would be "If such and such happens I'm going to", almost looking for something.

There is a corealation between music and attitude in all music, hip hop promotes good times, going out on a weekend and partying like we all want to do, and well "gangsta rap" is just that, no need to sugar coat it in one song you can smack 80 bitches and kill 1000 fools.EDM scene has its too, more along the lines of drug use and your cornocpoia of people, from all backrounds, ethnic, sexual or whatever, which isn't bad to some but kind of too much for others.

Once again its not black people at these clubs or any race in particular theres ed up people from all races and colors its the seeds that are planted in a corrupt mind, mixed with a little intoxicant add a gangsta rap tune and it could spell violence.

+1

I understand that its not just a race thing either, but hip-hop and thug dominated clubs have a higher risk then a normal EDM club of that happening.
The risk is that alot more individuals might be carrying these weapons at these hip hop clubs incase one of their boys gets into trouble or something like that.
Whenever I got out clubbing to an EDM type club, i feel a lot safer in my mind then if I were to go to some hip-hop club (which I hate going to).

But still, the violence in the parking lots is something to worry about as its the common grounds for everyone. Espcially after a night of partying when many people are intoxicated and become irrational and don't think of the consequences.

PS. Toronto is the 5th Largest in North America if you include Mexico City. I'm pretty sure the only other cities that are larger are NYC, LA and Chicago.

Honestly even in parking lot situations the best thing I know to do is just walk away...for many reasons, even if you have more people or may seem like you could crush, the guys instigating, you really don't know whose carrying what, or who these guys are..and ultimatley in these type of situations its never worth it, let the animals act like animals.

ing dispecable. I didn't hear about the gunfire earlier in the week either. I hope these people go to jail for a long time. That's really sad to hear.

Tell you what... u stop using the offensive term "mangia cake" and ill stop saying gino. NOTE: We are all canadian who are we fooling here?

But i agree that its all about mentality that the music brings out.
capo tutti di
Hey sorry man your right with the mangiacake thing, that true I would actually only use it against someone literally taking the culture and ting on it like the segment of clowns listed in my above post does, and yes i agree I'm a Canadian first!:D

I'm not defending this happening, and I do believe we should care about what's going on, but it surprises me how surprised some people in the posts are when hearing about these things. We live in the 4th or 5th (can't remember exactly) biggest city in North America. We have millions of people in the city and plenty more tourists coming in every day. No matter how nice of a reputation we have historically, it's just nearly impossible with that amount of people NOT to have the odd person do something ridiculous.

I'VE BEEN SAYIN THIS FOR YEARS.......FINALY
