See that's the huge debate...pretty much she said if I wanted to get back with her, i'd have to quit drinking, quit parting, quit hanging out with my friends (because she hates them, but I'm starting to grow stale of them too) and pretty much be sober 24/7.
Which, she would be worth all of that and more, the problem is, I keep contemplating it, and just when I thought I've come up with a good decision, a friend hits me up on my cell and is like "hey man, I just got some good smoke man, you should come by" and I go back to square 1. |
i don't know about you, but i would take my gf over drugs and parties anytime.
edit: maybe make a compromise...party in moderation... |

How old are you? |

If I offended you, I'm sorry.
I'm not being assinine about it. I've been through bad breakups, in the past, trying to get over them for months (not weeks). However, I never sit around, looking at the past, like it going to make the pain go away. Instead, it worsens your issues. Do anything you can to occupy your time, for as long as it doesn't make matters worse.
Constructive planning is key. Good luck. |

23, but my ex-gf would party with me all the time...i didn't have that problem.
i've been partying for most of my teens and i still party nowdays, so it's nothing new for me. |

Wow, I'm 21, never partied once in my life. I think it's mostly because I lack the social skills or something. I'm sorta inept in that way. But once I did go to a pub and I really thought it was brainless (no offense to anyone, but I just didn't "get it"). I went to a party too, and an hour into it, was so boring, like the pub was from the start almost.
And I obviously don't drink (you can tell by that last statement). |

Naw man, you didn't offend me, it takes a lot to offend me, and if you did offend me, you'd have known by now. :D
I'm just ranting cus it does suck, and I know time heals all wounds, but when you're chillin at your house, and all your friends are not pickin up the celly, and you have time to just sit there and ponder, that's one of the first thing my mind floats to man. I never asked for it, and I wish it would go away, but as for now, my mind is in a low place, and I need to jump it back up. |

Positive thinkin'... appreciation of what you experienced I think might help you...
"Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."
I think that's a pretty profound quote, and if you could think about that, relate it to your experience and relate it back to the things I aforementioned, I think it might bring some satisfaction and acceptance. |

Bars/pubs are brainless, a bunch of brainless drunks who are just looking for their place in the world, or enjoying their place in the world. |

I think that's just one strategy. I mean, I've grown pretty agnostic lately. These are all coping mechanisms. Fact is, life sucks, and has no meaning. Any meaning we do find in it is pretty much perceived; a construct of our own mind and need to make sense of the chaos around us.
Kinda like art... trying to make sense of all the chaos by putting some order to it, just like that quote. |

You lack the beginning of your profound quote:
"I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;"
I'm feeling it, as I am currently sorrowing most. |

Kind of like the bible, a guide book on how to be moral, when morality is lost. |
